looking for suggestions on fictional lawyer books.
My husband is looking for suggestions on fictional lawyer books. He’s read all the Grisham books so any similar books he’d probably like. Thanks!!

Mark Gimenez.
Michael Connelly
Seconded.
Which ones?
I like The Lincoln Lawyer, as well as the Harry Bosch series (they are in the same universe.)
I only know Harry Bosch but he is a cop. No lawyer themed.
Or maybe I don’t understand the genre
@Antigoni, Harry’s half brother is Mickey Haller, the Lincoln Lawyer.
The Harry Bosch books by Michael Connelly are some of my favorite.
Adam Mitzner has good attorney stories.
Presumed innocent, is the best
Scott Pratt, Robert Dugoni, Steve Cavanagh,Lachlan Smith, Greg Isles, Shelton Siegel,
Jodi Picoult
And Tami Hoag’s Prior Bad Acts
Can’t believe I forgot John Lescroart.
Also Phillip Margolin, Richard North Patterson,
Scott Turow
The Will by Reed Arvin
Michael Kohn has written a series also the Rumpole series is the best!
Lisa Scotoline
Mickey Haller Series by Michael Connelly
HEnry Cecil. his books are very funny.
Marcia Clark and Sheldon Siegel write very exciting legal thrillers. Also Kate Wilhelm and James Grippando.
Beach Lawyer by Avery Duff. I found it on my sister’s Kindle.. it was good.
Nancy Taylor Rosenberg has two good series featuring lawyers.
Phillip Margolin has a series featuring a criminal attorney. Book one is Wild Justice.
Amanda Jaffe series, takes place in Portland Oregon.
Ronald Balsom, Once We Were Brothers
John Lescroart. Diana’s hardy is one of his characters. I read everything he writes. Love the books!
I think that’s Dismas Hardy.
@Susan yes. Sometimes my spell check messes up!
@Sharon that’s why I disabled mine! It came up with the most ludicrous stuff!
Nina ?, Female attorney series takes place around Lake Tahoe by Petri O’Shaunnessy.
Perri
Jeff Abbot has a very good series featuring a judge. Book one is A Kiss Gone Bad
How about To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee?
Julia Keller writes a female lawyer books that are interesting. Killing in the Hills is the first book.
Has he already read Scott Turow and James Patterson? Linda Fairstein, former head prosecutor for NYC sex crimes unit, has a good series featuring a prosecutor – Alex Cooper Mysteries. Book one is Final Jeopardy. But be warned her books are pretty grim i.e. very realistic.
Defending Jacob by William Landay
I loved this book
Me too!
Me too!
Joseph Finder, Linwood Barclay, Harlan Coben

Scott Turow has a number lf legal thrillers.
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee

The Dismus Hardy books by John Lescroat. San Francisco setting, latest one is Poison.
Thanks for reminding me. I loved the Dismus Hardy series! Now if I can just remember which one I read last. It was when I read actual books. Now I read on my Kindle..
I also really enjoyed the Barbara Hollaway series by Kate Wilhem.
William Lashner.
Also the Steve Martini series about a lawyer named Paul Madriani.
Thank you ALL so much!! If he doesn’t find a book in all your suggestions, I will!! Awesome list!!
I like the earlier Steve Martini books…
Connelly’s Lincoln Lawyer
We both read it and loved it!!

Scott Pratt’s joe Dillard series is excellent
Perry Mason series by Erle Stanley Gardner. Absolutely smashing books!
Philip margolin
James Patterson or Patricia Cornwell.
Lawyers?
Well it is set in courtrooms sort of.
Defending Jacob
Sheldon Siegel is one of my favorite and I love good legal thrillers. He’s even better than Lescroart.
Scott Turow
David Cavanaugh series by Sydney Bauer, the first is Undertow haven’t read one in a while, but there are 5 that I know of.
Features young lawyer David set in Boston although the author is Australian. Very good series ?
Ohhh, sounds like one I have to read!! I love series!! I think I’ll be reading more of these books than my husband will but between us we’ll keep Kindle busy!!
Stuart Woods Steele Barrington series. Lots of casual sex but fun books.
John Lescroart
Michael Connelly’s Mickey Haller books
Pleading Guilty, Scott Turow
CJ Box
His guy’s a game warden, not a lawyer.
@Susan I understand that I’ve read them both. Both authors employ similar writing techniques and both deal with the concept of justice. Many people who like Grisham also enjoy Box.
I love CJ Box myself. But someone specifically asking for books about lawyers might not be so interested in wilderness adventures.
Not all of them are wilderness adventure. Three weeks to say goodbye is a thrilling novel about a judge and an adoption case.
@Faith you’re right. That one would fit.
