In Cold Blood, Lost Girls, The Murder Room, The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher, The Skeleton Crew, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Careless People ?
Anything by Ann Rule. Also People Who Eat Darkness: The Fate of Lucie Blackman. The latter was a bit long/slow paced(I listened to the audiobook so that may be why), but very interesting!
Just read two good ones. “Desert Reckoning – A Town Sheriff, a Mojave Hermit, and the Biggest Manhunt in Modern California History” and also “Goat Castle – A True Story of Murder, Race, and the Gothic South”. Both fascinating and show real life can be more bizarre than fiction.
The Spider and the Fly is journalistic look into the mind of a psycho killer (writter by a friend of mine). It’s not a traditional crime book, but it’s a great read!
The Alex Cross series by James Patterson
That’s fiction.
Apologies read comment wrong!
The Good Nurse. It was intense but a very good read.
Best true crime for me was “In Cold Blood”
Small Sacrifices by Ann Rule. Took place where I live.
The lost girls by Robert Koller (about the long island serial killer) and true crime addict (about a college girl who went missing)
All of the Ann Rule books.

Monster of Florence
It’s hard to say loved about such brutal events, but I loved that book! I found the connections made to the Amanda Knox story fascinating.

One of the best written for sure.
“The fact of the body” is part memoir part true crime.
This title sounds intriguing, especially since it’s part memoir.
In Cold Blood, Helter Skelter, Mindhunter, Whoever Fights Monsters.
Killers of the Flower Moon was on ALL of the best books of 2017 lists. The movie is already in the works. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/29496076-killers-of-the-flower-moon?from_search=true
I had to order that one! It looks amazing and horrific at the same time!

Helter Skekter by Vincent Bugliosi
Terror by Night
The Devil in the White City
“Mind Hunter “, by John Douglas. About the FBI profiler unit.

Just finished Under the Banner of Heaven by Jon Krakuer
Have Under The Banner Of Heaven-Is it worth reading? I enjoyed Into Thin Air by him
Anything by Ann Rule. Also People Who Eat Darkness: The Fate of Lucie Blackman. The latter was a bit long/slow paced(I listened to the audiobook so that may be why), but very interesting!
YES! The Stranger Beside Me was the BEST! ?
Just read two good ones. “Desert Reckoning – A Town Sheriff, a Mojave Hermit, and the Biggest Manhunt in Modern California History” and also “Goat Castle – A True Story of Murder, Race, and the Gothic South”. Both fascinating and show real life can be more bizarre than fiction.
