Looking for a new good read! I am particularly keen on stories based in the 1800s-1950s. Romance, mystery, adventure. Any suggestions??

Have you ever read The Agency series by YS Lee? I haven’t read them myself but they have been on my tbr for a while.
@Sarah I haven’t. I’ll have to look into it!
Have you tried the Stalking Jack Ripper series? The third one just came out.
Yess ?
It’s greatt
I haven’t but it already sounds appealing.
You guys might like How to Hang a Witch and the sequel Haunting the Deep. They flip back and forth between current time and the past. The author based them on her own family history.
@Tricia yess
I love How To Hang A Witch
And Haunting The Deep as well ?
rebecca by daphne du marier ♥️♥️ finished it today and it was amazing
The Ruby Red series is really good ?
The Bronze Horseman series. Code Name Verity. The Pearl Thief. The Book Thief. Gail Carriger.
I’ve heard people rave about The Diviners series by Libba Bray. I haven’t personally read it yet, but it’s deff on my TBR!
Oh, I knew I was forgetting one!
This series! It’s super good! Based in the 1800’s! I love it! The 3rd book releases in November ?
I’ll post a synopsis of it below!
Have you ever read Wuthering Heights? I know its an oldie but seeing as though it was actually written in the 1800’s it might be something to think about. I loved it. If you are looking for a newer read based on the time frame then I suggest The Glittering Court by Richelle Mead. Its a 3 book series that takes place in that time frame about girls selected specially to go to a finishing school so they can travel to the “new country” which is pretty much early America to meet potential influential suitors. I loved the series
@Heather I read Wuthering Heights in High school but not since. Maybe I’ll read it again. I have no opposition to rereading books! Also, I Will have to look into that series because it sounds good!
@Kyra I think you might really like The Glittering Court series.
@Heather I’m sure I will! It sounds really good! But I’m glad that someone else recommended it because I have bought books before that looked like they would be good but turned out to be very poorly written.
I ordered the Glittering Court books on Amazon. They’ll be here in a few days!?
Yay! I hope you like them.
Also I know it’s a bit old, but ‘Water for Elephants’ was fantastic and one of my faves!
Thank you all! I’m gonna have to make my way through a list now! ?
