So many, @Renee. I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh, The Dry by Jane Harper, Blame by Jeff Abbott, Here and Gone by Haylen Beck, The Long and Faraway Gone by Lou Berney, and Dead Woman Walking by Sharon Bolton. These are all stand-alones. There are mystery/crime series that I follow that are un-put-downable, too.
@Jennifer, do you have a particular setting you like? I read quite a bit set in England and Scotland, but I also read ones set in Texas and the Adirondack Mts. Do you prefer police procedurals or cozy mysteries or something else? And, do you prefer a certain time period? I’ll be happy to get some suggestions to you, but if you have any preferences from my questions, I’ll look at those first.
Sorry I am just getting around to commenting back but @Kathy I absolutely LOVED Blame by Jeff Abbott. Talk about some serious twists and unexpected turns. Thank you for the suggestion. About to pick another one of your suggestions.
@Tracey what did you think? It’s classified as young adult fiction, but I thought that Simon’s actions, reasons and thoughts were inappropriate for young people -especially with the terrible things that have been happening in schools all over the country. They hear and see that enough in real life…
@Tracey I agree, I think it’s relevent, but I agree that it’s more of an adult book. I guess I just don’t think kids need any more dangerous ideas. They seem to have enough already!
The Broken Girls, The Wife Between Us, The Bone Garden, In The Woods

What mystery series would you recommend? I’m reading I let you go and I like it.

Just purchased Blame, can’t wait to start it tonight. Thank you for the suggestion.

@Renee, you are in for a treat with Blame! I was so wonderfully surprised.
@Kathy I can’t wait to get settled in for the night. ?
Please let me know what you think about it, Renee!
I will for sure.
Hi Kathy, I like contemporary detective stories set in England or Scotland but I’m open to any good series. Thanks a lot!
I also like True crime!

Anything by Chevy Stevens
Patricia Cornwall wrote the Kay Scarpetta series and they are all excellent!
One Of Us Is Lying
I’m reading this right now! Halfway through and I’ve got no idea who may have done it…
I was like that too. Every time I had an idea I dismissed it. Turns out one of them was right.

I didn’t think they were inappropriate, but it felt like more of an adult book than YA. I think the topic is pretty relevant in today’s society.
