The Crucible! It is the OG of New England witch stories after all. Too bad it isn’t feeling much like fall yet here in New England though, still hot and humid as hell.
It’s a young adult book, but I LOVED How to Hang a Witch. Author is descendant of guy involved in actual Salem Witch Trials, incorporates him into the story. So good!
@Kristin I dont, but Nielsen does! I’ll get it from her. And my friend Rachel has The Alice Network, but once she’s done with it, I’ll send it your way!!
Jumping on the “following” bandwagon here because I JUST made my first visit to Salem and Hocus Pocus is legit one of my favorite movies annnnnddddd it’s ALMOST that time of year…
So Cold the River by Michael Koryta isn’t set in New England. It’s actually about a small town in Indiana, but it’s kind of a psychological/paranormal thriller. It’s a great read,
I already said The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane but I will say it again, it is that good! Also The Witches of Eastwick (set in R.I.) and Waking the Merrow – about supernatural happenings on the R.I. coast.
Not everyone knows they can do the 3 dots and turn on notifications so they just say following or F. You can also turn off the same way. Hope this is helpful!
If you don’t mind YA, Chelsea Luna has a series of 3 or 4 books. New England witch chronicles. The kindle editions are pretty cheap and they are a fun read at this time of year.
@Tracey I love any stories about that time period. One of my favorite books growing up was The Witch of Blackbird Pond. In fact, I have it on my nightstand to reread!

I’m in NH. This is AWFUL! I dont live in FL for a reason! I love fall!
I’m in MA near the RI border, temps in the upper 80s and 90s predicted all this week. Can’t wait til it cools off!
@Katie same here! Everyone else hates fall/winter but I dont do well in heat so I’m the oddball!
Me too!
@Katie, same. I’m in Lakeville. Sweating my butt off and my teen is freaking out because her hair won’t stay straight for the first day of school. ?
Yep my hair has been a frizzy mess all summer in this humidity lol.

A Discovery of Witches
I liked Discovery of Witches for the most part. My only gripe was that it was too had to connect with the leading lady. I posted a review in my blog: https://booksandtrouble.com/2012/03/04/a-discovery-of-witches-by-deborah-harkness/
I just started Discovery of Witches, and really like it so far!

@Tiffany The Alice Network! That’s what it was! I can get them from the library. Just thought I would check the Dutcher Library first. ?
