@Traci it is. Developes the characters even more. To me, Fredrik Backman is going go down as one of the best writers of our time. He talks about things that matter. So many books never get you in the depths of your heart. His do.
Is it important to read his books in a particular order? I’ve read A Man Called Ove, and My Grandmother asked me to tell you She’s Sorry. Now I’ve checked out Us Against You, but I don’t want to read it now if it will be out of order…
@Marie Thanks. I’ll return it to the library tomorrow and request something else. Maybe I should do Britt-Marie was Here next. And what about And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer. They are listed before Beartown. And then comes The Deal of a Lifetime. I could use some advice here.
@Karen I have not read Britt-Marie yet. I have a hold on it at the library. I know she was a Character in My Grandmother Told Me to Tell You She Loved You, which you read so it might be a good next for you. Both are stand alone books though. I have read Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer. It is one of my top reads for this year. I strongly recommend it. I am an older individual, that may affect how much I liked it. I would love to hear what you think if you decide to read it.
It’s good to read Grandmother then Britt Marie as Briit Marie is in Grandmother but it’s not that essential. You just get the idea of why she was like she was in Grandmother
I hope it is a Swedish film. They tend to follow the book more closely. Hollywood seems to want to re-write everything. “A Man Called Ove” was a great movie!
There is a sequel…..
Can’t wait to read it. Hope it is just as good!
It is out. “Us Against Them”. It is his most recent. Have you read his other books? “A Man Called Ove” and “Britt-Marie Was Here” are excellent also.

Just started it today!!
Loved it ???
On my list!!!!
Took a little time to get through all the hockey (although I realize it is very important in the book) … loved the last half !
Loved the language. “It was so quiet you could hear his heart break.”
Chose it for book club.
Loved it! Slow start but it was worth it.

Beartown should be read before Us Against You.

Only Beartown and Us Against Them go together. All his other books are stand alone reads.

@Marie It is on my TBR list, so I’ll try to remember to mention what I thought of it! Thanks!
I wasn’t a fan
Us Against You is the sequel to Beartown. The others are stand alone.
Thank you, Jerry Peck! I’ll request Beartown.

Ahhh. Grandmother is the only one I have not read. Lol. Guess I will add it to the list. 🙂
@Jerry it’s great the story is fantastic such a talented writer
The best book of the year for me along with the sequel. Love Benji!!
Could not love this enough
@Lauren me either. I borrowed from the library but i put them both on my Amazon wish list for Christmas.❤
I tried to read it twice and I just couldn’t do it!
I loved this one! Backman writes great characters.
Just read that they are making a film from this book!

@Jerry , yes it’s Swedish so should be good! ?
I loved Ove and liked his others, but I didn’t finish Beartown. It just didn’t grab me. I’ll probably try again another time.
I’m 15% in And not loving it yet.I have to keep going because it’s supposed to be such a good book!
Linda….I almost gave up, but it is SO worth it!
Agree!
Hanging with it, only 12% so far. Finding it a little slow.
Keep with it!
