Yes it is! The sequel is just as good.
What is sequel? Thank you!
Us against you
Have the book just have not read it yet.
The sequel is called Us Against You. It was released earlier this year.
Us Against You. And if you enjoyed Beartown you’ll love that he continues the story.
Yes! Both Bear Town and Us Against You were excellent! I went to hear Backman speak in the spring for Us Against You release and he revealed that there is a third book planned! He always envisioned it as a trilogy!
Tried to get my book club to read this, but they passed on it. Still going to read it on my own.
I just finished it. It was pretty good. I will be picking up the sequel when it comes out in Sept.
Oh… I guess Us Against You is out already!! Lol!!?
Us Against You is the first in the trilogy? read that one first?
Bear Town is first. Us Against You is the sequel
Us Against You is the second.
It is! I finished it a week or so ago. Picking up the sequel at the library tomorrow.
Beartown first, Us against you continues the story a year later.
Glad to hear it. I loved Olve, hated Grandma
it was different from his other books I had read, but still a really good read – so relevant in todays world… and thought provoking.
I love that book.
One of the best books I have read in a long time. And the sequel Us Against You is very good as well.
Would love to hear Backman speak – no dates posted 🙁
I finally started My Grandma…” last night, skeptical that I would like it because I’m not drawn to coming of age books (which it sounded like) and never knew my grandparents (so I had nothing to relate to). First ten pages and I’m hooked! SOOO, I’ve just added Beartown to my TBR and the Friends of the Library booksale is coming up next week, so I’m jazzed! Thanks for the recommendation!
Read Brit -Marie next!
@Sheila Added it on your recommendation! Thanks!
@Marilyn It is the sequel to Grandmother.
I’ve been trying to get this from the library for months!
I enjoyed it
middle of Bear Town also such good writing
Great read, very engaging.I enjoyed the sequel also.
What is Beartown about ?
@Yvette A small town hockey team that experiences a scandal and tries to cover it up. Loved it!
@Kim putting it on my growing list!!
My favorite of the year
It’s gut wrenching, but so very good.
I loved this book plus the sequel
Really like his writing.
This on my to read list! Loved Ove so I’m sure I’ll love this too!
My book club loved it!
I thought it was a real page turner and very introspective. 6 month waiting list at the library for the sequel. ? ?
Brit-Marie was Here.
One of the best audiobooks I have ever listened to!
Love this book.
I couldn’t get into Beartown so I didn’t finish it or read its sequel, but I loooooved all of his other books! I couldn’t put them down!
How far did you get? It starts out quite tame, but takes a serious turn.
@Ann then I probably just didn’t give it enough time. I’ll give it another shot in the future. I’ve had that happen with other books, too.
I finished it, hated it the whole time ?♀️
I had to put it down. I can’t handle rape
What page does it get good. I’m 100 pages in and bored.
Doing a reread of Beartown is on my Bucket List. ?❤️
I really liked it too, and the sequel is excellent too!
It was required reading for all the boy’s at my son’s boarding school. He said it had a slow start building the characters but then it took off and in one night he had to stay up all night reading it. He just couldn’t put it down.
Read the sequel Us Against You, you’ll love it too!
Just finished Beartown and ordered Us Against You, can’t wait to read it.
Oh, how I loved The Weekly Reader and those book flyers and school book fairs! I am totally and happily addicted to reading, but now most of my books come from our county library and used book sales.
Sorry – this comment was meant for the previous post.
Just finished it. Good story.
I loved it. The sequel was not as good in my opinion.
Such a powerful book, and I loved the sequel, too.
Enjoyed that book
Make sure you read the sequel
Good story, but lots of characters!
I’m reading the sequel, Us Against You, at the moment. His best is definitely A Man Called Ove, but I’ve enjoyed every one of his books.
Yes, it is a very good read! I couldn’t put it down!
Love his style. Great book.
Just getting ready to start it….
I loved it! Also loved A Man Called Ove.
Read Brett Marie was here for our book club….. very good
Loved this too. Did you read “my grandmother asked me to tell you she’s sorry “? She is introduced in that book
@Erin I did not realize that!!
Such a great book!
Is Bear Town related to Grandmother and Brit Marie, or another series?
Not related to Grandmother or Brit Marie but Us Against You is Beartown’s sequel.
Just started it too.. getting hard to put down!
Loved that and Us Against You
Wonderful story. The sequel “Us against You” is out.
I’m in the middle of Us Against You.
@Lina how is it so far?
@Linda just as good as the first. Funny thing is, when I read Beartown I didn’t appreciate how good it is until I had finished it.
I really like all of his books.
Haha! It helps to be a hockey fan
That was a good book. I like his writing
Bear Town is nothing like his 1dt 34 books. Much darker but very good.
Just read it over the summer! Love Fredrik Backman.
I am reading My Grandmother said to tell you she is sorry… Just started
The sequel is good as well
i really liked it. i want to read the sequel
Just finished it yesterday. Beautiful.
I’m in the middle of Us Against You (the sequel) right now. I’m totally in love with anything Backman!
I’m in the middle of the sequel
Love every one of his books!!
It should be required reading in high school.
Couldn’t put it down
I loved it, read Beartown II next.
Loved it and the sequal!
Absolutely love this book!
The sequel is better. Us against you.
Love Fredrik Backman!
What’s it about?
I need to pick it up again. I struggled so much. As a mom with daughters I was cringing and had to put it down after the “event”. I adored Ove, Grandmother, and Britt-Marie, so it was sad for me to struggle reading this one.
It was a tough one. I agree, but I’m glad I stayed with it.
On my kindle ready to go…
It is so good.
Wow, wow, wow!
I finished the sequel, Us Against You, a couple days ago. Just as good as Beartown.
I have it on hold at my library- 6 month wait. ?
@Lina I didn’t realize there was one until last night! Looking forward to reading it ?
