Just curious about other book lovers, do any of you mind reading two or three books at a time?
Just curious about other book lovers, do any of you mind reading two or three books at a time? Sometimes I feel I need to read romance one day and suspense the next…
Monogamous reader here. Each book waits it’s turn. Next ….
Absolutely! One at a time.
Same here!!
I always have one audio book and one either physical or ebook.
I’ve been wanting to listen to an audiobook because I’ve never experienced it before. Maybe I will listen to one on the road instead of the radio.
@Deserae I listen in my car, and when walking. Give it a try!
@Deserae I recommend comedian memoirs when you’re starting with audiobooks, because they’re written by people who think about delivery for a living and deliver their own material.
i have at times read more than one book, depends on my mood.
I always have at least 2 going. I just finished Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and am also reading The New York Regional Mormon Singles Halloween Dance by Elna Baker. They’re both good but very different!
Sometimes I have five or six on the go
Yea…I can read a couple as long as they don’t have similar stories.
I switch between genres at the same time.
I always have two books going, one physical book and one Ebook.
I usually read one book at a time.
I can’t do it. I get too overwhelmed and then I stop reading all together.
If I read more than one book at a time, I usually read one fiction and one non-fiction.
I usually always have three going.
I often have a few going at the same time- especially one fiction and one nonfiction
I always have multiple going
I’m an English teacher, so there are times I HAVE to jump around. I can do it, but I prefer to become obsessed with one world at a time.
I usually have three books going – a paper book for bathtime and other down times around my place, ebook for bedtime and outings, and an audiobook for when doing chores and working out.
I have the one I read at home and one in the car.
One at a time. I prefer to fully engross myself in one story at a time.
I usually have 2-3 books at a time.
1 audiobook and some physical or kindle.
Nope I nearly always read 2/3 books a the same time.
I do that religiously…
I have several going at a time
I am currently reading:
LOTR: The Two Towers,
Deception Point,
The Golden Compass,
Two Kinds of Truth
I always read multiple books at once. My friend thinks I’m crazy but if you think about it it’s not that weird. Most people, before streaming services, would watch a different set of shows every night and no one thought it was weird or had trouble with story lines. If I’m able to read everyday, I enjoy jumping from book to book. I still sometimes will end up focusing on one story because it just grabs me, but I like to mix it up for the most part. I don’t think it’s weird to read multiple books at once, but to each there own, that’s what I always say lol.
That makes sense! I’d never thought of it that way.
@Melissa sometimes you wanna binge watch but sometimes want to see something different every night right? hahaha if someone doesn’t have a lot of time to read I get reading one book at a time. But I am lucky to be able to read everyday so I like to have a lot of irons in the fire.
@Tim That makes perfect sense! I never did it because I had very little time to read. I still don’t have as much time as I would like but I’m getting there.
Trust me there is never as much time as we would like lol! I was just out of work for a couple months (medical leave) and I would sometimes read for 8 or 10 hours a day and I was still sitting in my chair at night like “Man if I only had a few more hours” lol. This was my first week back and I only got to read 3 or 4 hours over the whole week! Hahaha I’m practically in withdrawl looking at my books as I leave for work!
@Tim I hope your recovery is smooth and speedy. It’s a tough transition when you’re robbed of your reading time. Work always gets in the way.
Totally, work is the worst haha
I usually have three books going at once: an audio book in the car, a nighttime read, and a professional book. It keeps my brain in gear!
I usually have 2 going. One fiction one not. It just depends if the book is really good that’s all I read.
All. The. Time. ?
always!
I always have a couple, but some end up getting left behind.
Same here.
I feel bad for those books! Kinda like a traitor!
I usually have one I am reading and an audio for the car or when I am doing chores.
I do that
I always do this, usually fiction and nonfiction at the same time.
Lol yea!
I don’t normally do that but I’m doing it now. Two totally different books. I had already started on one when another one came off hold and I couldn’t decide which one to read.
I may have 4 or 5 going at same time
I thought everybody read more then one book at once… I need my reading to match my mood
I have to read multiples at once. I tried once to cut it to one at a time and I just couldn’t take it.
I like to read one at a time, but 2 more just became available from the library. Oh, oh!
I usually have a fiction and non-fiction going at the same time.
I always have multiple books going so I can hop around depending on my mood.
I always have between 2 -4 books going at same time.
I usually read 2 at a time… one on the kindle and one regular book.
I am strictly monogamous
I’m in several book clubs, so always reading two or three at a time. Love it- so little time…so many stories❤️
I often have 2 or 3 going. I love fiction, but read non-fiction for research. I will also read my own choice and the book discussion’s choice at the same time.
I do 4 or 5 at a time.
Sometimes 2 at a time max. Usually a fiction & nonfiction
I’m reading 3 at a time.
Yup, I usually pick up and read a few books at the same time
I usually have at least 2 going.
Same here-2 or 3 at least
I’m what my friends call a compulsive completer – I have to finish one book before I can start another.
Rarely do 2 – I’m a one at a time kinda girl
An upstairs book and a downstairs book.
I am currently reading 5 books lol. I have one for the car, one for the couch, one for the bathroom, and then one on audible and one on nook…so yes ? and they are all different kinds of books
That’s awesome. One for each room. I’ve never thought of it like that.
One on the phone in case I have to wait at work
I sample books on the phone for free and buy the physical copies if it’s good. I like magazines on nook too. Great for screenshots;)
I’ve tried reading multiple books at once, but I found myself getting confused about which book had which characters, which plot, etc. I didn’t find it as enjoyable as I do reading (savoring) one book at a time.
One at a time for me.
I read books during the day and my kindle at night. Always two different books.
I usually read 2 to 3 at a time.
I always read multiple books at once, I max out at like ten
Yes! I usually do it in different formats though. Physical book right now is Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi, kindle is Burn Bright by Patricia Briggs, audible is The Obelisk Gate by N.K. Jemisin, and bedside is The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur
yes, i do
I always have multiple books going.
I usually have about 3 books going from different genres.
I always have 2 on the go – one audible and another for bed time reading. Most of the time I will have some sort of self help also that I am going through. The self help books are a lot slower going through than the fiction – definitely not as fun. I simply like to listen to audiobooks just so I can get things done that don’t need focus or when driving somewhere. I have to read at night before sleeping and like to read a physical book as I find it more comforting. Sometimes I will read a book on kindle also. Find kindle is easier to take with me to read while waiting.
I learned the hard way to vary my genres. In doing hardback, kindle and audible at same time, did 2 women’s beach fiction in audible and kindle. They merged into 1 messed up incoherent chaos!
Im doing three book at this moment.
I always read at least 2-3 at a time, and sometimes more. So, no, I don’t mind at all! ?
Yes. I like audio books. I have one going in the car. Then I may be reading or listening to another one in the house.
Yes, I usually read two or three at a time. Usually non-fiction, a mystery, and literary fiction. Right now I’m reading Last Bus to Wisdom by Ivan Doig, Wicked Prey by John Sandford, Salt by Mark Kurlansky and listening to Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson on my commute
I love dipping in and out of books.
I do this sometimes too, usually with a “light” book alongside a “heavier” one but I firmly believe I enjoy a book more when I focus solely
No I read one at a time.
I’m starting to dabble in this. I’m not sure I’ll be able to keep the stories straight but I’m giving it a try!
I try to read entirely different subjects.
Yup I’m a big mood reader
Sadly, I cannot. I also cannot start another Netflix series before I’ve finished another!
Yes, always
No, dont mind at all!!
I’m currently reading 2 at a time. If a character does something so cringy I can’t go on, I just switch to the other book for some time. Weird, I know.
