Just a general wondering, what is the average price you are willing to spend per book
$30
$20
$15. I pretty much buy everything on amazon.
Hardcover: up to 20$
Paperback: up to 12$
Used/discount store hardcover: up to 10$
Used/discount store paperback: up to 5$.
I’m pretty close to what @Stephanie said.
$20
Oh gosh, I didn’t think I was cheap, but I would say
$15 for hardcovers ($25 if I absolutely need it as soon as it is released)
$10-$12 for paperback
$5 for anything used
I usually only shop on Amazon, Book Depository, Book Outlet, or library sales.
Oh I forgot about e-books, $5 at the most, and that’s pushing it ?
20 ish for hardback books
For a new book, $5-$15 depending on how much I want it. Library book sales and thrift stores have really spoiled me. 🙂
Depends how bad I want it, but I try not to go above USD $20.
No more than $15 unless it’s signed.
At most $30, unless it’s a boxed set
$0, I borrow from the library. lol
7.00
No more than $20, and even that is pushing it, for a physical book. No more than $10 for an ebook depending on the book and author. I shop Amazon and ebook deals and thrift stores and online sites for my books.
Paperback $12; Hardback $15
The most I have spent is $25
Same as Amanda K Scheel. I’ll occasionally splurge on paperbacks depending on the issue, but even then I don’t go higher than $25.
$10 for paper book, less than $5 for kindle.
It honestly depends for me on how new the book is and what condition I want it in. I usually use thriftbooks or shop at my local used book store so I stick to $10 or below, but if I want something newer that is sold in limited places I’ll usually pay in the $20 range
I don’t buy new hardcover. Way too expensive.
For a student like me, it would be 300 pesos
$15, but I always check around a lot to see if I can get a better price. I think I have spent $17 on a book earlier this year and I felt bad about it.
$12
If it’s new I try to stay under $15. If it’s used I try to keep under $8-$5.
20 bucks. I always try and buy used as well.
Depends.
I refuse to spend over $8.00 for an e-book though
Yes I totally agree!!! I like to wait when they go on sale for like $1.99.
1dollar for 2nd hands books
I’ve spent like 30before but that was for a book that the author took like 5 years to write! And it was the last I’m the series! AND it was huge lol
That’s a great question!!! I try to stay at $10 or under!
Depends. Sherrilyn Kenyon books always are expensive, even down the road. Normally no more than 15 for everything else. With that being the high end nd I really want it and can’t find it cheaper
I usually try and adopt used books, because they also need a loving home. But I’ve paid up to around $30 for a hardcover I’ve been dying for.
No more then 20…
$20 or under for a physical copy of a book, hardcover and paperback!
On average, I’m limited to about $10 per book – preferably less. But for a special book, up to $50.
The most I’ve spent has been $38 for a 5 book collection, generally I try to keep it under 20 ?
Between £10/20 (in special circumstances like if I’d die without the reading the book) no idea how much that is in is in $.
I’ll spend what it costs to buy the book that I want. I often pay more to support my local independent book store.
Yes! Even if I’m browsing Barnes and Noble, I go to Powell’s take my purchases.
Up to $30 per book. Preferably under 30. I look for deals always. I’ll only buy over that for certain books depending on how much I want it.
However much it takes…
??
€10/12
Since you asked for average I’d say 20.
$16
Depends a new book max 15 euros, but only in bookstores online i will look for a better price. But the illustrated harry potter books are a little over 20 euros online so thats the most i would spend, thats like half the price of them in the bookstore overhere
$5 and under is my typical amount as I usually buy used books
Same!
Depends, normal book 20 euro’s. specials more
I don’t really have a limit per book. How ever much it is.
Usually try to keep it $10 or less…except for a select few
Generally not more than $10.
I think it depends on what books you want to read.
I’ve never spent more than $.50 cents.
$20 max and that’s brand new Barnes and noble hardback. Otherwise if I’m using one of my discount sites, it’s probably $7, $8 if I really want it
my max is official 20 euro, but I spent not more 25 euro to a book (leather bounded or a wanted book for so long)
It depends on the book!
Average would be $10.
20$ for a physical book. 8$ for an ebook.
Used in only willing to pay around 5 including shipping
The average? A couple of dollars. I rarely buy new. I typically get books from yard sales or in lots. I’ll pay .50 or $1 each.
My Shakespeare books have cost up to $12 for really old books. And I preordered the HP books, but those were gifts. So *technically* I didn’t pay for them.
We won’t discuss how much my textbooks cost in college. I’ve blacked out the portion of life that my wallet was violated so utterly.
I’m usually not inclined to spend more than $20 unless the author is right there to sign it.
$20 per book – if it’s brand new! I’ve been trying to buy used lately but if it’s a new release, I commit to the price on Amazon. My Barnes and Noble membership helps too, so I rarely have to pay more than $17
£10-£12
250PHP so estimated price is $5 … I’m only a starter book reader and I own 11 preloved books and 1 subscription book. Just keep swimming~ I’ll get there. ???
Most books here are 10 Euros (11 Dollars) so I hardly ever go above that unless it’s a really good book/author 🙂 I’ve also been buying a lot of used books recently and I love them 😀
Usually about $15-$20AUD
$25 max but i recently had to buy one for book club and it was $35 so annoyed, it wasnt even that big.
10$ average, 15$ tops
$20 for a brand new physical book. $5-$10 for an iBook depending on how popular and old it is
$3 at the bargain bookstore, $10 for the regular bookstore, and $25 – $30 for a book I really really really really really want and money’s not a factor.
