I consider all the books I have and haven’t read yet as TBR but when I finish a book I just have a little anxiety attack trying to figure which of my hundreds to read next ?
I dont have a tbr list per say, I just read what I choose and dont go by a list or pile. But i do love watching videos and seeing peoples tbr piles. Gives me lots of books to add to my wishlist.
I don’t really have a set list, pile or stack. Just kind of a general sense of where I want to go next but if something else pops up before I get there that is fine too. I also buy books with no intent of reading right away, they just sound interesting and I’ll get to them when I get to them. If I try and stick to a set TBR then I get burned out on reading. I don’t like being told what to do even if its myself doing the telling ?
Nah. I keep a little notebook but it has everything from books ideas (not TBR necessarily) to TV shows to movies and things I need to do around the house. More of reminders than a goal.
Wow you are brave. I would have a panic attack if I didn’t have another book to dive into. The idea of not having a book ready to be read sort of makes me nervous. I commend your bravery.
I don’t have one either. At least I don’t think I do lol. I switched to ebooks, so now I just have a bunch of books on file. I finish one and start on another.
I have a mental one that I tend to forget about most of the time until I finish the book I’m reading and then try to think of all I told myself I wanted to read. ?
Nope. I don’t either. I do have a list of books I’d like to read but I have to revise it periodically because I might change my mind before I go shopping next. I don’t even know what I’m going to read tomorrow?
I never made one but now that I use the library apps on my phone to get books I “tag” books I’d like to borrow while browsing since many have waitlists. So when I finish a book if there isn’t a specific one I’m looking for next (from something peaking my interest here or something for book club) I check what I’ve tagged. So I don’t have to browse every time
No. I don’t think so. I have a kid that I have to carry around 24/7 so I cant just stroll through libraries and bookstores freely looking for books without disturbing other people so I joined goodreads just to be in and out quickly. Prior to that I never had certain books I was looking for.
I have tbr shelves and a tbb (to be bought) list of books I want to buy to add to my tbr shelves. Most of my book shelves are tbr. (I only have 25 books that I plan to keep). Maybe I’m the weird one! Lol…
No, . . . I just have a vague idea of what I want to read next, . . . which can easily be altered by anything shiny I see mentioned here, . . . or anywhere for that matter. ?
Hmmm. A little but you know what? Keep doing you!!!
Maybe your just good at keeping up with what you want to read
Very! Lol
No
Wouldn’t say weird. I only started keeping a tbr in last few years
I dont have a tbr pile. I just pick the top book of a pile of books xxx
I consider all the books I have and haven’t read yet as TBR but when I finish a book I just have a little anxiety attack trying to figure which of my hundreds to read next ?
I solved that problem by putting mine in alphabetical order.
That post-book anxiety is like 90% of why I love series and trilogies ?
@Jennifer lol I was reading the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward for years before I finally had to break away from the series thing ?
No, not at all?

It’s like you read my mind! This is me too ?
That’s ok. Each person needs to do what works for them. I don’t consider it weird at all.
I for one am weird, and also don’t have a TBR list. The 2 have nothing to do with each other. Hahahaha
No
I dont have “list” I have a physical stack lol
Same 😉
You don’t need one, you read way more than I do.
True.
No it makes you my hero. I keep my list short and sweet and I still can’t get to the end of it.
Relatable.
I didn’t. Until I joined this group.
Nah. I keep a little notebook but it has everything from books ideas (not TBR necessarily) to TV shows to movies and things I need to do around the house. More of reminders than a goal.
I think no cause if it is supposed to be weird then I guess I am a weirdo ?
yes. How do you know what to read next?
After I finish a book I look for my next.
Wow you are brave. I would have a panic attack if I didn’t have another book to dive into. The idea of not having a book ready to be read sort of makes me nervous. I commend your bravery.
Lol. I have 4 book shelves full, over 450+ books, but really don’t have a list of which books I should read, or when to read them.
I’ve been here for a year. Haha ?
The only thing about reading that’s strange is not reading
I do not really have one. Will write down names of new books Ì may be interested in.
I don’t have one either. At least I don’t think I do lol. I switched to ebooks, so now I just have a bunch of books on file. I finish one and start on another.
I don’t have one. I buy, and I read no set order. Sometimes reading the posts on here makes me think I’m a slacker…
I have a mental one that I tend to forget about most of the time until I finish the book I’m reading and then try to think of all I told myself I wanted to read. ?
I have more of a very short to be read pile not list. Lol
No I dont have a list just a crap load of books
I dont have a a lit just a big, huge, never ending pile of books I want to read and collect.
i don’t either and i read constantly!!
I have a tbr bookshelf and just read randomly. No list
I just have piles of books!
Nope.
No. Having a TBR list is a personal preference. I didn’t have one until this year.
Nope. I don’t either. I do have a list of books I’d like to read but I have to revise it periodically because I might change my mind before I go shopping next. I don’t even know what I’m going to read tomorrow?

Gasp! 😀
I don’t either. I have books I’m waiting for through the library, if that counts
Not at all.
Very weird.
Yes.
Nope
It’s handy to refer to when I can’t decide what to read next or someone recommends a book. Then, too, I’m a chronic list-maker ?.
Yes. Start one there must something you want to read.
Of course. But I know it when I see it.
So I get it and read it.
Then move on
You are one lucky woman. ?
No. I don’t think so. I have a kid that I have to carry around 24/7 so I cant just stroll through libraries and bookstores freely looking for books without disturbing other people so I joined goodreads just to be in and out quickly. Prior to that I never had certain books I was looking for.
I don’t either. Never have. I just pick whatever I’m feeling next. My moods change constantly so a tbr list is impractical to me
I read whatever I can get my hands on so no TBR list
no
No
No, I don’t have one.
I have a to be read cupboard under the stairs…full to the top x
NO…I love to make spontaneous choices and be pleasantly surprised and unexpectedly stimulated.
No
Every reader has a To Read List… It may be that this list ist clandestine
@Walter I haven’t x
@Jay It may be that this list is clandestine to the reader himself- I‘m sure you‘re quite confident which books not to read ?
Lol wrong, I’m just spontaneous in my picks, don’t queue them xxx
Nope, I’d just end up rebelling ?
Well, if it is, you’re in good company…. I’ve never kept one!!
Maybe a little? Lol!
I have tbr shelves and a tbb (to be bought) list of books I want to buy to add to my tbr shelves. Most of my book shelves are tbr. (I only have 25 books that I plan to keep). Maybe I’m the weird one! Lol…

No
Probably better, because it can certainly cause anxiety when your list seems to be way too long!
I don’t have one either. I read what ever I find at the stores, or the library.
My “to be read” list sometimes causes me anxiety..
No. Good for you. I can’t imagine myself without TBR list
How about just a blank “waiting to be discovered “invisible page…
I don’t, either I fly by the seat of my pants. ?
Not weird at all.
Not at all. I have a small one now but I never used to have one. I would just go to the bookstore when I finished a book & buy a new one. ?
No
Not really. More freedom to choose and less to feel guilty about not getting to . . .
That’s probably a good thing, don’t worry ?
Do you write lists? Do you have any trouble figuring out what to read? Do you read enough? These will tell you all you need to know.\
I only put the next two or three books I intend to read on my ‘to be read’ list
Sounds peaceful. ?
I just started keeping a handwritten list again! (finding it is another matter…)
Me neither. I read what strikes me when I’m in the mood.
I don’t have a tbr list, I have a tbr pile but only because I get multiple books at a time at the library.
No. I barely have time to read a book in a month. So it’s no use to keep a tbr list of 14 books that I will read in 3 years.
The only time I have one is if I’m in the middle of reading a series.
No, . . . I just have a vague idea of what I want to read next, . . . which can easily be altered by anything shiny I see mentioned here, . . . or anywhere for that matter. ?
Good for you lol i really dont have one. I just read what I feel like reading at the moment and never mixed the storylines and characters so far ?
