Really? Not a one? One of my pet peeves is doing the same thing twice . . . but I’ve read a couple which I read when I was young . . .loved them the 2nd time . . . like a whole new perspective . . . some were like I never read them. Ya gotta try it once.
Nora is my most favorite author ever!! But I like her other pseudonym even better, J.D. Robb. A whole bunch of books centered around Eve Dallas and her husband Roarke, She is a Homicide cop in the future! really a great series.
Oh. ONce a path has been strolled. One must stroll again . .. but I do catch your drift. I usually read a novel the 2nd time when nothing I have appeals to me . . .and it’s been so long that I know it will seem new. Hence, the stones a 2nd time across. 😉
I think it beats the sh?t out of . . .”What are you reading now?” . . . I’m not the most imaginative man . . . that’s why I’m talking about books . . . and as ole Steve (something) used to say . . . “Exxxxxxxxxcuuuuuuuuuuzzzzze Me!” 😉
You sing my song Mercedes . . . thank you! 😉 Not there are no more good ones, there are . . . but I need to revisit. I’m merely one human being . . . and need to walk old stones with reason.
I usually give away books when I finish reading them, so most of my shelves of books constitute my TBR ‘list’, but I do make smaller stacks that I plan to read first. If I keep a book after finishing it, there is a fairly good chance I might reread it, but I don’t bother with lists for that. I only count first-time reads towards my annual reading totals (family competition rules my siblings and I all abide by), so rereads are just for fun, and never to win or prove anything anyway.
STOP. Keep them lass . . . you aren’t gonna be young forever . . . smilin. Keep them . . . put ’em in a closet, garage or hide ’em in your crawl space (in a dry area of course) . . . they will bring you dividends in multitude. I garontee!
I move too often and have no space of my own in which to keep them, and frankly I find it pretty easy to acquire new books to replace any I get rid of. I also can’t drive or carry heavy stuff, so when I move I am not the one actually moving my many boxes of books. Moving days go smoother if I don’t have to convince my family or friends to move a lifetime collection of books each time. I have almost 1000 books now that I have not read yet, and usually in a given week I acquire 3-10 new ones and pass on just 2-3 I’ve finished.
But? Don’t you think sometimes? Just that thought . . . “what was that exactly about?” . . . or just . . . “damn that was good” . . . have the courage lass . . . go back where you’ve been. My motto, is “always move forward” . . . but never . . . with forgetting the back . . .or re-reviewing it.
Like the old song goes . . . “Hit me with your best shot” . . . I’ll try one . . .i’m not to interested in your latest. I’m a fictional guy . . . (hell, life is this way . . .no?)
Doesn’t sound too fictional? . . . but I’ll look it up . . . promise. Mine is fictional . . . it’s a 5 star from earlier this year . . . I’m a baseball fan(atic) . . .but I believe it would be good to anyone. it’s called “Calico Joe” by ole John Grisham.
It’s complete title shindig Every Great Man the Unknown Women Behind the Worlds Alpha Males it examines women such as mrs oscar wilde mrs bernie madoff mrs schindler
Beg pardon. I wasn’t paying attention to names . . . just got home from a jazz concert on the east side of town . . . with a couple buddy’s . . . we had a beer or four . . . Marlene . . I will peruse your novel . . . and converse. Thank you.
@David you are humorous; feel free to quote me the First Lady author not sure what you mean thank you David for your solidarity which I truly appreciate
Some days among many, leave us much more to remember . . . this has been one. Yesterday . . . don’t let me get began . . . LV and TP passing . . . and even a Nascar dude I don’t even prefer passed . . . Today was. Another day . . . and has been . . . promise Marlene.
It was life lass . . . LV was Las Vegas and TP was Tom Petty . . . and NASCAR was Robert Yates. Nothing personal. But all . . .personal if you catch me drift. Thank you. You are very interesting. Must read. Thank you.
Good for you. It’s only been about 20% of my 72 this past one calendar year . . . but I always through them in . . . good for you! Lady after me own heart.
Reading any book. Is one healthy obligation one makes to ones self. So I understid . . . the reluctance to re-read. Plus, there are so many good books out there . . . Being “old” I prefer to hark back . . . read one from before . . . and my life . . . then . . . will come back. It’s not that I need a remind . . . but it damned sure helps. I dig all you’re positions on this . . . but the main thing is . . .. READ. 😉
I have 12 on top of another 500 or 600. Has anyone read Winston Graham Poldark stories? I seen on PBS the other night . . . this filmed series coming about . . . but I want to read all, before I ever witness.
I have about 35 tbr in my books I currently own just alone, as I’m buying more. Lol have it wrote down but books unowned are wayyy or if hand to keep count of
I have ajar that has every book I own that I have not read yet in it and when I finish a book I pull a title from my jar and thats the next book I’m reading. If it happens to be a series book I write the book in the series down and put it in the jar. I like it that way because it will always be a surprise as to what I will be reading next.
I have a huge TBR list, but I don’t keep a list of books to read again. That’s more of a “when the mood strikes me” type thing. I might see the book and think I’d like to re-read it right then, or something might remind me of the book and I’ll go grab it from my bookshelves to re-read. I don’t really plan on those. They just kind of happen! 🙂
@David oh, it is dire. Seriously, I have a journal with 200 pages full of books I want to read. Now, I did use 2 lines per book-one for the title and one for the author.
@Debi And? How do you decide which is next? A notion? A determination? Length (of the book)? Just curious. My choices are always arbitrary or perhaps spontaneous . . . just curious.
Now. I thought I had alot of TBRs . . . but you all kick my arse. I have like . . .38 on the TBRs on Goodreads. Oh of course there are more. prolly 50 😉 . . . . but RAs are at about what I’ve ever read that was good, and at least 10 plus ago . . . they seem new. I’ve done it. Trust
TBR no RA
Really? Not a one? One of my pet peeves is doing the same thing twice . . . but I’ve read a couple which I read when I was young . . .loved them the 2nd time . . . like a whole new perspective . . . some were like I never read them. Ya gotta try it once.
Cal Hornblower from Time Was by Nora Roberts
My wife reads Nora . . . she’s into romance. I just don’t prefer the genre . . . guess I’m getting old 😉
Nora is my most favorite author ever!! But I like her other pseudonym even better, J.D. Robb. A whole bunch of books centered around Eve Dallas and her husband Roarke, She is a Homicide cop in the future! really a great series.
I have too many TBRs to think about any RAs
Oh. ONce a path has been strolled. One must stroll again . .. but I do catch your drift. I usually read a novel the 2nd time when nothing I have appeals to me . . .and it’s been so long that I know it will seem new. Hence, the stones a 2nd time across. 😉

I have piles for TBR and RA. No lists, though.
Me to. I like to live spontaneously . . . I’ll catch some TBR . . . and RA’s as time comes.
My TBR is about a hundred books and my ra is about 200 books
You sing my song Mercedes . . . thank you! 😉 Not there are no more good ones, there are . . . but I need to revisit. I’m merely one human being . . . and need to walk old stones with reason.

My TBR is already so long I don’t have the courage the make a RA
Bookaholuc indeed!
I wish i had the time to read again some of my favorite books . I think you are right I need that courage to do it . Thank you David.
I would be thrilled if you would consider adding my books to yourTBR list. My newest one is Still I Rise: the Persistence of Phenomenal Women
Like the old song goes . . . “Hit me with your best shot” . . . I’ll try one . . .i’m not to interested in your latest. I’m a fictional guy . . . (hell, life is this way . . .no?)
I know, you thought of one . . . then another. Go back to the first . . .smilin’
@David thank you @David
You never gave me a potential read though?
@David oh ok because you are not a phenomenal woman how about Behind Every Great Man do you rite if so hit me with your best shot
BEGM . .. by Marlene Wagman or Eileen McCort?
I do. But I don’t. So far as writing. I merely like exposing thoughts. Weak. i know.
It’s complete title shindig Every Great Man the Unknown Women Behind the Worlds Alpha Males it examines women such as mrs oscar wilde mrs bernie madoff mrs schindler
@David under my name ?
I’m not Alpha. Beta at most . . .
I’ll read . . . find and read. I always enjoy knowing an author . . . and reading the insides of their mind. I have a couple. You are the first lady.
Beg pardon. I wasn’t paying attention to names . . . just got home from a jazz concert on the east side of town . . . with a couple buddy’s . . . we had a beer or four . . . Marlene . . I will peruse your novel . . . and converse. Thank you.

@David sorry for your loss books have got me through many a sorrow
It was life lass . . . LV was Las Vegas and TP was Tom Petty . . . and NASCAR was Robert Yates. Nothing personal. But all . . .personal if you catch me drift. Thank you. You are very interesting. Must read. Thank you.
My TBR pile is extensive. There is no time to have an RA list.
Extend it. Perhaps? 😉
With some old reads . . . of course . . . make time.
This year all I’m reading is RA.
Good for you. It’s only been about 20% of my 72 this past one calendar year . . . but I always through them in . . . good for you! Lady after me own heart.
I use my Amazon wishlist. Also the towering stacks of unread books in my house.
I have a TBR shelf!
Reading any book. Is one healthy obligation one makes to ones self. So I understid . . . the reluctance to re-read. Plus, there are so many good books out there . . . No RA list.. but a RA bookcase..
Yup, though my TBR list is much larger
As it should be. We always tend to look toward as opposed to behind.
This guy (REK) has song my life . . . but ya’ll gotta hear this . . . it’s very much like reading .. .if you don’t mind . . . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjohP7juqU8
I have a WTR list… want to read. It takes the pressure off as I know I’ll never get through it!
I have 12 on top of another 500 or 600. Has anyone read Winston Graham Poldark stories? I seen on PBS the other night . . . this filmed series coming about . . . but I want to read all, before I ever witness.
Hell yea
No RA list, the only books I reread ate the ones that happen to become a book club read and I’ve read it. Just too many I want to read
My tbr list is way too long to make a ra list.
My thoughts exactly.
Piles…I have TBR piles…
TBR a mile long. Too many things I want to read to reread books.
Of course
I have kind of a TBR list but I don’t take it to serious and I reread when I feel like I miss the characters or settings 😀
I have about 35 tbr in my books I currently own just alone, as I’m buying more. Lol have it wrote down but books unowned are wayyy or if hand to keep count of
I rarely reread a book.
I have ajar that has every book I own that I have not read yet in it and when I finish a book I pull a title from my jar and thats the next book I’m reading. If it happens to be a series book I write the book in the series down and put it in the jar. I like it that way because it will always be a surprise as to what I will be reading next.

Huge TBR. And I re-read all the time, just whatever strikes my fancy.
I have a TBR notebook
I have a never ending TBR list….but no RA list. I’m not much of a re’reader.
Yes
I’ve got a very long tbr. Lol
I have a stack
My TBR list is long. I’ve had a few RA books in the past but not in the near future.
Ofcourse
Me I have a mega pile of TBR!!!
yes
It’s not a shelf of RA but a box, and several shelves to TBR. Not including ebooks that find their way into the folder.
I feel like I can never RA again because my TBR will never be finished in my lifetime.
I re read a lot of books, many from many years agol
Oh honey. My to read list fills a book!
There are of course .. . short books (novellas) and looooooooooooooong books. So perhaps it’s not as dire as you presume? 😉
@David I go thru my list if I don’t have a pile of books sitting by my chair. I just pick one that sounds good at the moment.
Yes, a long TBR. list & make a note on Read list if I want to reread.
Well. More of a pile lol
Trust
????????
I have a read list and a TBR list but my read books are divided by my ratings and the ones with high ratings I tend to reread
I have a tbr list, but honestly if I wouldn’t want to read that book again( whether I will or not) I give the book away.
I have a huge tbr and also have a read again group of books
When I have reread books I get them off audible if they have them.
Yep
mostly in me head
Absolutely!
Only have TBR list. Slow reader. Too many books I want to read to spend time re-reading.
I only buy books that I know will reread.
You can’t do that? Unless you have a crystal ball or something or wrote it yourself???? . . .
There are rules to this stuff . . .smilin’
I read them before I buy them. Check them out of the library first and then buy the ones I like.
Ohhh . . . then I completely misunderstood. If I were a lady I’d be called Miss Understood . . but? I’m not . . . so 😉
I have mostly TBR….but a few that I plan to reread.
