I’m thinking about reading the Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde and just wondered what people thought of it

I absolutely loved it—Wilde’s writing style is fantastic and atmospheric and GREAT.
One of my favourites. Totally recommend!
it actually worth ur time
I tried… maybe I will come back to it someday not sure I made it to 80 pages. Just hasn’t done it for me
Excellent, a true classic…
Must read!! Go for it
It’s a phenomenal work of prose. Go for it!
There’s a reason it’s a classic. Can’t say that for all classics, but this is a good one
I bought it….love it!
This was one of the few books we had to read in school that I loved.
Awesome book.
I loved it. So much social commentary
I loved it. I just finished it last week and its the only book I’ve had to read for school this year that I actually enjoyed
Read it in my Oscar Wilde class last semester. It’s a short book but super dense in regards to the prose. But once you get into it, you’re in for a good time.
I loved this book. I read it in my twenties and I’m about to read it again!
One of my favorite books! It’s dark and twisted, just like my soul ?
It never gets old.
It’s very philosophical. I quite liked it.
Read it 🙂
It is intoxicating and addictive… Must read
I was obsessed with it a while after I read it. It was so good!
Amazing. It’ll leave you exhausted in the end. Been long I felt like this about any book
One of my favourites :))
I have it on my tbr list
Its my favorite ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The best! Read it! 😀
Really good read.
It’s great. I never considered it part of the horror genre, because of the movie, but WOW! The book definitely is!!
I loved it and made me read even more
Definitely recommend reading it.
It’s great
Still on my to- read and to-watch lists.
Love it
Wonderful. The only book i like recommending to my friends
I love Oscar Wilde’ s quotes. I have not read this either, but I do believe it is on my Kindle.
I do too!
It is my favorite❤
I love the story. I didn’t love the read, for whatever reason.
One of my all time favorites.
Good read
I have it on my Kindle – I devoured it!
So good! Please dive into it and enjoy!
I liked it.
Meh
One of my favourite classics.
Loved it.
I just read it!! It’s awesome!
It’s short. That is the best thing about it
In my opinion it could have even been shorter.
@Lana I know! I had read Swans of Fifth Avenue and naturally wanted to read some of his works and I did. But I could have lived without them Not feeling his writing at all
I have trouble with the classics when they ramble on tangents that have little to do with the plot or they talk so much I forget what the point was in the first place. I know that some of these classics were originally cereals, so maybe they should have been edited instead of cut and pasted from the newspapers.
Good point about serials. Maybe the author would have to reiterate. I didn’t think of that. But I’m still all set with his writing Something annoyed me.
I enjoyed it, but it could have used some editing.
It’s a classic so not my favourite kind of book, but this was a good one 😉
I liked it. It’s calm for a horror book, but so compelling and suspenseful. I really enjoyed it!
Its good, not great but a lot of hidden messages and point of views.
It’s a good book
It’s a good book
I love it.
I’m a huge fan of his complete works, especialy of his fairy tales.
I listened to a bit of it for free on Libravox and enjoyed it… I need to go back and finish that someday…

I loved it!
I hated it but forced myself to finish it. Each to their own though, you may love it!
Read long ago. I thought it scary
Great

It’s one of my faves… It’s a great read
It’s great! Has one of the best twist endings I’ve ever read!
Loved it.
