Reading it now .. half way through .. ? I did read the Plays before starting this novel – they are a lot of fun & made me want to watch the Film adaptations again .. ??
@Jason I belong to a discount theatre club where I get last minute tickets for £3.60… seat filling service, so although it looked full, not sure how many paid full price.
@Jason I have, both old and new. The 1945 film adaptation with Hurd Hatfield was great! So was the 2008-ish with Colin Firth. I’m not one for books to film usually but they both portrayed it well. Even Penny Dreadful (the series) had Dorian Gray in it and that worked too.
No.
My late husband won it at school, he never did say whether he had read or not. Mr I haven’t.
Yes, several times.

Oh yes, it’s fabulous.
I’ve just booked a ticket to see the stage version of this book
I wonder how the stage version compares to the film version
@Jason enjoy. I find the theater always more entertaining than cinema. ?
@Zuzana The stage set looks very good
@Jason enjoy ? I hope I get a chance to see it too. Nothing beats a good book, wonderful music, delicious food and the stage. ?
Yes. A couple of times. It is brilliant.
I did. Absolutely brilliant book. Nearly every sentence sounds like a quote. Beautiful language, so very well written.
It is excellent xx
Yes, very good book. It meanders a tad in the middle, as I remember, but overall really enjoyable.
Wilde’s only novel. There’s a couple of decent film adaptations but I haven’t seen it on stage.
@Will I’ve seen the film that was made in the 40s. Starred Angela Lansbury & George Sanders & Donna Reed
@Will Jonathan Wrather is playing the lead in this production
@Jason There’s also the 2009 version with Ben Barnes and Colin Firth.
I didn’t know Jonathon Wrather. I’ve googled him but I don’t think I’ve seen him in anything. Hope you enjoy it. I love the story.
Ben barnes portrayed Dorian very well I thought
@Will Been in Emmerdale & Corry. Did you Google Jonathan or Jonathon?
@Jason I must have got the right one, cos it mentioned Corrie and Emmerdale, but I don’t watch them.
@Alison, yeah, I enjoyed that one.
Yes, at least three times ?
Loved it x

Disturbing.
@Brian The film was disturbing
@Jason yes, the MGM one, but the book was on a different level.
I did. A couple of years ago, but still vividly remember the book.
