If you want to stay with more of the classics – The House of the Seven Gables, The Count of Monte Cristo, Daisy Miller, Wuthering Heights, Moby Dick, Pickwick Papers, Pride and Prejudice, The Call of the Wild, Robinson Crusoe, Frankenstein.
At the risk of sounding really stupid I don’t think anything compares to The Picture of Dorian Gray… You might read something similar to the mood but Wilde’s atmosphere and reflection on his character in his time are unique…
Anything similar would be good! 🙂

You might like “Dorian, An Imitation”, by Will Self, which puts the story in a modern setting.

All of Poe
I really like The I’m of Being Earnest
Wilde didn’t write anything further like it, and no one else comes near. Cannot think of anything to suggest.
Love that book! Another one that stuck with me was The Awakening by Kate Chopin
Silas Marner
Something by Robert Louis Stevenson?
The Woman in White
