An older group of stories (19teens through 1930’s) by author Joseph C. Lincoln. Stories from before the Cape was spoiled by the tourist industry.
I think there’s an old Mary Higgins Clark mystery that takes place there. If you’re willing to do Nantucket instead, most of Elin Hilderbrand’s books take place there.
Remember Me by MHC! I read it when we were staying on the Cape. The book is 24 years old, but she mentions places in the Chatham area that are still there.
I loved That Old Cape Magic by Richard Russo. https://www.amazon.com/That-Old-Cape-Magic-Contemporaries/dp/1400030919/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1528891910&sr=8-14&keywords=richard+russo
I read JAWS while visiting the Cape.. that was a great read – but I wouldn’t even go into the hotel swimming pool after that!
I just read an interesting one called Shadow Walkers by Russ Chenoweth. It’s about a family of rats. It was short, but enjoyable.
Beatriz Williams “Tiny Little Thing”. She writes about the different Schuyler sisters in series of related books.
