Yes, I’ve read them several times. One year, my husband and I read them aloud to each other in the evenings. We made it through all the books in the series. Wonderful books that we love!
I love them! I used to dream with Narnia! I’m still not convinced that one of the wardrobes in my grandparents house was not one of the doors to Narnia…. our grandmother wouldn’t let us touch it! ?
They’re wonderful. Listening to them is great, too, because each book is read by a different wonderful actor such as Kenneth Branagh, Michael York, Lynn Redgrave and Derek Jacobi. I also read them in chronological order rather than in published order, so The Magician’s Nephew is first.
That is basically what they are, Biblical allegory. The end of the last book is so beautiful it made me cry. I read to understand others so I try not to limit myself. I am a Christian, but I have read Penn Gillette atheist books. I feel sorry for anyone who feels that this life is all there is, that seems so hopeless.
Yes.. I read them with my 10 year old. It was when then movie ” The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” was realeased. It’s nice in parts, but I( we) worked our way through though the set and completed them.
I have all the books on hand but I’ve read the lion the witch and the wardrobe only, because I wanted to read it before I watch the movie. I dunno in what order I should read next. By publication or chronological???
By publication order—there’s a tradition in epics that they start in the middle, called “starting in medias res.” Lewis knew this and followed it. The pattern goes forward and back in time, delivering the plot with flashbacks, and building our involvement and emotion in that pattern. Harry Potter is the same—it starts with Harry, not with Voldemort’s mother putting a love spell in his father. Get it?
For example, The Magician’s Nephew has the creation story of Narnia, but we care far more about it if we are already involved with Narnia.
Yes, I read them many times as a child, absolutely loved them, except for The Last Battle, which I was never very keen on. I remember my fathe reading Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe to me before I could read for myself.
My mother taught 5th grade, and she read them, years ago, to her class each year. The kids loved them and talked about it for many years, even bringing it up to me at the time of her death.
I have 7 children and have read the entire set to every child…though it did it only three times…first 3 Kids…then the next 2 kids…and then the last 2…now I’m planning to read them a 4th time her my granddaughter but I may have to record them
Yes n loved them
Wonderful series!
Yep. Love.
Only the lion the witch and the wardrobe lol. I’m actually reading C.S. Lewis’ apologetics and loving them so far.
Yes when I was 8 I received them for my birthday and read them all.
Yeah read them all. Loved most of them. The horse and his boy and the last battle were kinda boring to me. Loved the Magician’s Nephew!!!
Favorite childhood read, my first, followed by Anne of Green Gables.
Yes, it’s very good.
Ok lone dissenter here. I hate them.
You are not alone. ?
Me too 🙁 I tried to hard to at least appreciate it but I could never get into C.S. Lewis
No but I almost bought the whole chronicles in one big book of them
Read them in high school and loved them.

I liked them when I was a kid, and if I ever actually find a wardrobe impressive enough I will buy it.
It will look silly in our house but NO MATTER ?
Loved the series.
Loved them since forever. ❤️

I’ve read The Lion The witch and the wardrobe when I was younger, it was excellent!! I give it 5 ?!!
I have read them all and they were good. But it surprised me by the end.
Very good
Read them as a kid and loved them. Tried to read them as an adult and all I saw was the religious overtones and gave up on book two.
I’ve heard that from alot of people.
In curious to read them again for this reason

The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe and The Magicians Nephew are the best of this seminal series
Years ago – LOVED!
Many times!
I read the entire series straight through. Great books but I was burned out by the time I finished.
I have all the books on hand but I’ve read the lion the witch and the wardrobe only, because I wanted to read it before I watch the movie.
I dunno in what order I should read next. By publication or chronological???
Personally I think by publication is best.
And I prefer chronological! So things happen in order! To each his own!

I did read them by publication the first time, but after I knew the story I did them chronologically.
@Mari Your explanation about HP made it clear to me. Thanks!
@Karen @Louise I think I’ll go with by publication order first, then by chronological for the second time. Thank you all for your advice.

My fourth-grade teacher read LWW to us. It was magical.

Recording them is a great idea!
Yes!
