Are there still fans of The Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia out there, or are they passe now?

I really enjoyed Narnia. Pretty much hated LOTR though, too tedious
The Lord of the Rings is my absolutely favorite. Nothing has ever surpassed it, and nothing will.
I loved both series.
Best books ever written ?❤️
Narnia lover here both series are still popular today
I ADORE LOTR!!!
Much of my fantasy series is inspired from Tolkien.
He is seriously one of my heroes.
Still a Lord of the Rings fan here. 50,000,000 Tolkien fans can’t be wrong.
I grew up re-reading both. Still love them. ❤️

Lord of the Rings passe?
Lord of the Rings is great. Not really into Narnia though.
Love both of them
Always fans of the Classics.
Always an LOTR fan
Huge fan of them both ?
Always a Tolkien lover!
Classics to be read and re-read over a lifetime <3
Reading them now lord of the rings I mean
Not half! I always have to go back to Tolkien every few years, as he said it all for his particular seam of fantasy, as well as much about companionship, loyalty and the tribulations of life.
I bought a legolas charm about a few weeks ago
I can also recommend “Tolkien and the Great War” by John Garth, which shows how the First World War made the man and the book.
Yes still out here
Still love them!
Yes me! I love both especially the Narnian stories and I listen to them through Audible regularly
Always have, always will love LOTR 🙂
Re-reading LOTR now!
Love lotr and silmarillion back story. Epic
My first door to Fantasy was The Chronicles of Narnia. I will always love them first and foremost over all of the other books I have ever read.
@Dawn me too!
Me too!
Why would they be passé?
I’ve looked at the course offerings at some writers’ conferences, and one one track is about taking your fantasy novel out of the medieval time frame. But truth is, I’ve always been fascinated with that era. Plus, LOTR was my first fantasy read.
That doesn’t mean it’s passé
Just means expanding the time frames
Actually was just listening to Narnia again. Absolutely, the best fantasy written in my opinion. ☺️ besides the Hobbit. My mom and dad got me those books along with a Star Wars novel and so my life was changed forever. ?
Love The Hobbit and LOTR. Currently reading LOTR Return of The King
Good lit is NEVER passè. If someone tells you they are, chalk it up to bad taste, lol.
I love Tolkiens work, and I am currently working my way through the Silmarillion again. I have never read Narnia :p
I love LOTR, but haven’t read it in years. I had a very bad introduction to Narnia, so I’ve only read The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. I always wonder if it’s worth revisiting or if it isn’t as good as an adult ?
@Allison IMHO, there’s something there for everyone, young or old ?
I’ll have to add it to my list then!
I will go the the mat for LOTR every time. there are a lot of people that try to diss LOTR not even realizing that lots and lots of fantasy they read and play Practically plagiarizes Lord of the rings. Token Invented epic fantasy
yeah im not a fan of either now
Big Lord of the rings fan right here
I love the Chronicles of Narnia. My husband and I both love CS Lewis and made sure to name our firstborn with the initials CS (since our last name is Lewis). I also like LOTR.
Still a fan of both 🙂
Never liked Narnia.
Never.
Those are classics! Regardless of reader’s age or amount of time since the books have been around
LOTR for life!
Love them both
I’m reading ‘The Lion, the witch, and the wardrobe’ for a class of second graders. They love it, so i would say there is a new generation of Fans out there ??
I’m about to read LOTR. Love the movies and have been a long time fantasy fan, so figure I need to go to the source!
Narnia isn’t too likely to fade from popularity while it remains in most North American schools curriculum.
