Geralds Game gave me nightmares for years. And I read It when I was pregnant and had horrible dreams that my baby would be born with big, awful teeth ?
Years ago when I got obsessed with horror literature I got The hunter of darkness, Nathaniel Hothorn (if I am spelling it right). It’s not even a book, it’s a small group of stories… I got so scared I closed the window and went to sleep…
People say my stories are creepy. London’s Crawling in the Dark Minds anthology gained the most shudders, with readers saying they couldn’t cross the Millennium Bridge without looking over their shoulder.
@Mena so I bought on Amazon to be delivered on Saturday. I read the sample that downloaded to my phone….just a few short pages and I went back to Amazon, cancelled my order and reordered as a kindle book (even though more expensive, which is weird) just so I can read it RIGHT NOW. Omg the sense of dread and doom and I’m only 15 pages in….just what my rainy day off from work called for! Thanks for the recommendation.
@Mena just finished the book. I loved and was so creeped out by 3/4 of the book. Not a fan of the ending. Sort of fell flat for me. The original premise of the book and seeing that through would have been much creepier to me. But I was edge of my seat reading the entire time.

it was a long time ago, and I don’t remember the title, but I purchased a book which I mistakenly assumed was a biography on the Marquis De Sade, and it turned out to be a book written by him…I got into about 25-30 pages before I stopped, I didn’t know what to do with this book, it was horrifying, I didn’t want it around, so i took scissors and i ripped the pages out and chopped each page in pieces as tiny as I possibly could while my daughter watched horrified and confused that mommy would actually destroy a book. sometimes I still have a flash of memory and I am horrified all over again.
