I started keeping a journal on my phone using an app called Journey. When I finish a book, I upload a pic of the book and write my thoughts and anything else, a synopsis and characters names in the book.
No but I have goodreads for that and I put tabs on the spines of all the books I have read and a sticky note with the date of completion stuck to the title page.
What I have started doing, as I always re read my favourite books, I have put a little round sticker on the books I have read. My boyfriend also does the same on my books but in a different colour. This way I know which books I have read.
I keep a small notebook with two sides- one side is for books I have and the flip side is for books I want. I mainly started this so that when I go to book sales, I don’t buy books that I already have ( but haven’t read yet). To me, it’s a big help.
@Jo-Anna that’s what I need to do! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone to a bookstore or library and can’t remember if I have it or read it and get the same book.
I use an app called MyLibrary to keep track of the books I own. It has a barcode scanner feature that makes loading the books easy and you can mark off the ones you have read.
@Katie The Title, Author, and the date I finished it on. If it’s from before the 20th century I put a star next to it. Also, they’re numbered in the order I read them in.
@Katie No. I don’t review them. The star just means that it was originally published before the 20th Century. I love 19th and 18th century novels. When I look back at my journal I can find those quicker.
Thanks everyone, I think there is a true consensus that Goodreads is the way to go ! I will still write them down, but I think digital is a great way to be able to access the list anywhere.
Only on Goodreads. My daughter, 10, keeps a journal with the books she has read along with her favorite quotes from them. ?
@Eva that’s great that she does that at her age. I wish I would’ve started when I was 10.
I know! That’s why I encourage her. I didn’t. ??♀️

@Adam is it free?
@Jennifer yep!
@Adam thanks! Was just looking at the link.
Goodreads is similar, and also free.
@Adam thank you, that seems to be what everyone is using. Do you know if one is better than the other?
Not really – mostly a matter of taste. Goodreads is prettier, but I find LibraryThing better to use.
@Adam ok thanks, I like functional and practical , don’t need bells and whistles. Much appreciated!
No worries!

@Robert are the stars your review? Do you summarize or review them?
