Does anyone have a book counting app to keep track on how many books they read per year or do you count the good old fashioned way
Does anyone have a book counting app to keep track on how many books they read per year or do you count the good old fashioned way
Goodreads.
Goodreads does it all for me!
I use Goodreads
Goodreads
Goodreads..
I use Goodreads and set up a “shelf” for each year
Downloaded Goodreads this morning – will have to have a look at a “shelf” ?
When I add a new book to my goodreads, I have the option to “create a shelf” so each January I create my new year shelf…
Goodreads
I use Goodreads
Goodreads
I keep a typed list ?.
Goodreads and I also keep a notebook on my phone that I log them into
Goodreads and I also use a spreadsheet.
What is goodreads
http://www.goodreads.com/
Thnk you
Goodreads
Goodreads. It keeps track of the year in which you read a book if you add the data
Good reads is great
Goodreads it is. Downloaded and ready to go if I can work it out ha
Goodreads
Yep, Goodreads works well.
I’ve never thought of counting what I read
same here.
Saves having to count the pound coins yo find out how many books I’ve read x
I also use Goodreads but I dislike the app. I only use the website.
Always Goodreads
It doesn’t count as exercise and is not a competition either. What’s the point?
Keeping your mind active is exercising and intreaging to see how many books in a year I have read
I just like to know
I would prefer to remember all the good ones I’ve read and forget about the time I’ve wasted reading poor books that had good reviews.
By setting a reading goal, it pushes me to eliminate distractions. I will put down my phone and read more if I set a goal. I like to see how much I’ve read and feel proud. It’s not a competition with others, but motivation for myself.
That’s ok if driven by quality over quantity. There is a lot of rubbish out there.
@Steve agree with you!
Oooo I’m going to have a look at good reads.
Goodreads
Goodreads does it for me
Goodreads it’s superb!
Goodreads plus I keep track of books read and number of pages read per day on a simple spreadsheet (sad I know!)
Goodreads
Goodreads every time for me xx
Book journal for new year and pound in jar ? xxx
I am doing the pound in the jar this year x
Goodreads
Goodreads and I keep a money jar so the amount of money tells me how many books I’ve read.
Same here.
I use goodreads and I keep a notebook
Goodreads as it links also to my blog/reviews. I also do the £1 book jar challenge xxx
I’m gona do a jar this year , great idea
Yes it’s rather nice having a pot of money at the end of the year
Good reads
Write in a note book so I can see what Ive read through the year. Like to see what I’ve read rather than how many
That’s a good idea too thanks may use this x
Good reads
Goodreads x
Good reads
I saw this post and decided to go an investigate goodreads, oooh what a great app, I think I can lose a few hours just marking out what I’d like to read ?
Good reads
But? I do have a text document I’ve kept (each year has it’s own) of the list I’ve read during my reading season . . . which btw is July 1 thru June 30 . . . not Jan 1 to Dec 31 . . . don’t ask, just my reading season.
I’ve just bought a book journal from Amazon so I can write all my books in there too. Something about keeping a log of all books read within a year.
@Nicola Keeping a journal of books read is much like keeping a diary. I don’t keep a literal diary of course . . .but I can read back what I was reading Sept. 15th, 2005 and I will automatically remember what was going on in life . . . the memory of the book will remind me. I wished I’d have began this long back in the 70s . . . but? I didn’t . smile.
Goodreads
What is alphabet soup reading??
It was a reading challenge I did. 26 books and each title to start with a different letter of the alphabet. Exceptions on titles were “the” “an” or “a” where the second word in the title was then used.
I use Goodreads
I use a notebook
Goodreads
goodreads
Never counted books that I read, I don’t understand why you would x
It’s so much a count as it is keeping tract for me . . . I’m an old baseball fanatack so I like stats . . . that helps. But it’s not the count . . . merely a “where was I and what was I reading at the time” . . .
The app from my library keeps a record of which ebooks I have borrowed
You’re library has an app? How cool!
Goodreads
Good reads keeps track of what i have read, my currently reading and what I would like to read.
I love the Goodreads app. I list the books I want to read, track books I am currently reading and then when completed the ‘books read’ list helps when I can’t remember whether I have read a book or not ?
Me too x
I bought a book journal and write them all down x
Help!! What is Goodreads?
Good reads is an app for your phone that has reviews on books and it also allows you to keep track of the books you have read and want to read.
I buy a Reading Log from Amazon, very inexpensive and I love it.
I read a lot on my Kindle, what is the best way of keep track of those? Thanks.
I read most things on my Kindle and keep track on the Goodreads app
Cheers for the info, I’ll download it.
Have screenshot the features for you, hope this helps ?
Good reads! They have an interface with Kindle where it can automatically update when you start reading something
Thanks
For every book I read I put £1 in a jar and so far this year I’ve saved £41
I tried that once. That was the last time. I’d put a buck in jar for ever book . . . and as it would occur . . every 20 bucks I’d be out of beer and broke. So? . . .
Think I’ll do this too.
Omg great idea!
Good reads
Goodreads. What’s the jar challenge?
Im going to start righting dates down when finished besides thr list
I think I would rather not know – I suspect the number would only draw attention to the fact that other matters have been neglected as a result…
I use goodreads x
Me too. And a notebook!
I also have a notebook actually! Just as a back up lol x
I too do Goodreads and a manual list in my diary.
I have a book journal from Amazon. Love it. So much more personal.
What’s it called?
@Meghan just type in book journal and it will give you several to choose from. X
This is mine x
People are obsessed with Apps. I just keep a note of what I’ve read in an excel spreadsheet – and that’s so I can sort it in different ways if I want to .
I use my fingers and toes…
Old fashioned way is so much more fun xx
I just write a list in my notebook.
I’ve written mine down for the last 2 years.. everyone I read, and mark good, bad or ok next to itxx
I keep track in good read
I try to record them on Pinterest.
I keep track on GoodReads, that way I know if I’ve read a book and don’t accidentally read it again 😉 Also there is an online community there where you have friends and you can see the books they have read and how they rated them, enter giveaways for books, join clubs etc. I love it and would be lost without it now.

Old fashioned way
Goodreads?
I do use Goodreads but I also have a notebook to keep track.
I use Goodreads and then it’s easy to leave a review when I’ve finished the book
Goodreads for me toom
I use a book journal where I record what I have read
Goodreads every time.
people keep count of what they read?
Keep track rather than count…
With over 3000 books read it is so easy to buy one already read. Also titles change so it is easy for me to check on my spreadsheet.
goodreads for me too
Count the old fashioned way and when I’ve finished a book I put a £1 in my book jar and at the end of the year that tells me how many books I’ve read and then go on a spending spree to buy more books
Love this idea, might steal it, x
Goodreads, I set the reading challenge each year so it counts them per year for me. Plus I have a word document with my reviews / to be read books on.
Goodreads – fantastic app and helps me keep track of books I’ve read and those I want to read
I use a notebook as I mentioned to Keep track of what I read but I use an app called home library to keep track of the books I have and buy you scan the barcode to add it to the collection and if you’ve read it or have it it’ll flag it immediately I had to do something after buying the same book 3 times lol
I’ve just downloaded an app that does that so I don’t duplicate books
Just bought these from eBay to use as a book journal can’t wait!!
I just write them in a book. It’s in alphabetical order. I write all the books I have, purchased or downloaded onto my kindle. When I have read them I hi-lite them as read and date. Put £2 in my money box. Doing quite well this year only being able to read in bed or on trains. I am on my 40th book so hopefully £80 in the box by the end on the year. New perfume in the offering!
I never put money in a jar this year but have just checked my kindle and have read 41 on there this year and have bought real books so in total I’ve read about 67 this year. I’m actually getting ready for next year and can’t wait to start reading and documenting in my new journals and starring the money jar x
Notebook and pen
You can keep count on good reads I think.
And set targets ?
Why do you need to know?
I’ve been listing my books year by year in a spiral notebook since 1978 – just used the last page
Goodreads
I do it on excel
Goodreads. It’s great for checking if I’ve read it before I buy it. Providing you update it. Lol
Goodreads
I have a book and have a page per author and write the titles of the books in there x
