It is expensive. However, I find if you pre-order then you get the book for the same price, sometimes cheaper, than Tesco etc. I got The Book of Dust for £9 on Thursday there and have Darker pre ordered for £3.75 I think it is. Also their knowledge is fantastic too.
Ah ok – no it really depends. Like in the UK (sorry I’m not sure where you are from) you could have the same book for £20 in Waterstones or W H Smith but it’s £10 in Tesco. You can get two paperbacks in Tesco for £7 usually too, rather than like £6.99 each. You can save a fortune that way, but their selection isn’t anywhere like Waterstones or the like, they tend to just have chart books.
A good second hand online place to order from is World of Books as it’s free postage. I usually get around 6 to 8 books at a time for around £20 delivered 🙂
Supermarkets like Asda and Tesco tend to sell their books as loss leaders as the volumes they buy from the publishers allow them to do so. They only lose a marginal amount on each book not the huge amount the RRP would have you believe. They do this because the vast majority of the customers buy other things on store that they make a large margin on.

Yes! Stopped buying from there and I buy online or supermarkets because they normally have deal!!
I never really buy from book stores. I stick to Amazon and eBay.
I find W H Smith more expensive
Wait books don’t always coast that amount of money?????
What do you mean?
I thought books every where where the same price unless you got them second hand? I feel a bit dumb now haha
