It’s a pretty simple non offensive question, the problem lies with the answers so if you’re willing to take responsibility for the fact that some people might answer with more than just opinions and others dont seem to care about someone’s feelings at times than it should be fine. You just have to be willing to delete or stop harsh answers if needed coz lord knows the ones who are willing to give them wont.

No I don’t find it offensive. However, I would personally phrase it “which book do you like better”. That way the answers aren’t blanket statements.
