For me it’s got to be the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich, there’s not a book I haven’t laughed out loud to yet. Which does get me a few stares in public ?
If you like them, you may also like the Parasol Protectorate series by Gail Carriger. It’s a steampunky, supernatural, sort of romance that takes place in Victorian London. Full of wit!

I remember when I read Riders by Jilly Cooper, I would actually have to put the book down for a few minutes, because I would laugh so hard I couldn’t see the page through my tears. I don’t know if I would still find it as funny, but at the time I thought it was hilarious.

Any of the Calvin & Hobbes collections. As for non-comic books, I also used to enjoy Erma Bombeck and Molly Ivins. A recent funny book was NSA by Benny Neylon.
I’m dark, dark, dark! “Report from Ground Zero” by Dennis Smith and another title I can’t remember. Some of the details were so horrifying I laughed out loud.
