Ebooks from the library, fun, easy and free
The reason I got an e-reader was because I could check books out of the library!
I love the convenience of an e-book, but the experience and smell of a good ol’ bookstore will never get old. I sadly haven’t used my library much.
I’ve been doing eBooks and audio books for a couple of years. Next week I’m picking up a couple actual books from the library (that weren’t available digitally), and I’m so excited to be going back!
They are magical
I love the atmosphere and vibes of a library.
I do both. I feel it’s vvery important to support your local library so they can stay open for those who can’t afford books.
Yes! Use your library, books, computers, etc
YES!
Library, ebook, audible, overdrive, bookstores, whatever!!!!!
BOOKS! ?
Ebooks from the library. Instant checkout too!
Real books
I get ebooks from my library.
Depends. I love real books, but also love the convnience of an e-book – especially when traveling and when I go to bed.
i love going to the library
Sitting around with a real book is great, but it’s much easier for me to sneakily read an ebook at work without anyone noticing 😉
I buy ebooks if they’re under $3. Otherwise, I get ebooks from the library. I also go to the library to wander around and pick random books that look interesting.
Ebook so I can read on a backlit device and enlarge the font .
Both….my library lends ebooks, but I still enjoy going into the library
Ebooks from the library.
Just bought a Kindle Paperwhite today, now to figure out how to use it, hope it’s easy.
I prefer buying a “Real” book.
Both but love going to the library.
Library. Or, occasionally treat myself to buying a copy of the actual book.
Ebooks ARE REAL!
I use the Libby app (replaced Overdrive app) to reserve and download ebooks from library. Some are immediately available, others I reserve and wait for an email to tell they are ready.
I get books at the library and occasionally download an ebook thru overdrive app from the library to listen in the car
It is now the Libby app for overdrive app
Library! I love the quiet, the smell, and holding the books in my hands. Never have I ever read a book on a device.
Library.
Real books still
Library.
I appreciate and read both ebooks and books of paper.
Definitely a library. At some libraries there’s the opportunity to connect with other bibliophiles.
I rarely buy a book
Either borrow a paper copy, or download an e book or audiobook instantly from library to Libby
I like bookstores. They make me happy. But so does getting a book from Amazon.
I have a Kindle, and I sometimes use it, but I prefer paper books.
Library for sure! So many free options!!
Library!!!!! You can download your ebook from there just as fast ?
I love the library. Matter of fact I was there today and learned who goes on a Saturday morning. All due respect since I am one, it’s coots.
I don’t read ebooks but I know many people do and enjoy it. I’m on my iPad s lot but not for reading books.
Ebook
I mostly read library ebooks through Overdrive. But we go to the library weekly for storytime and I often have books put on hold to pick up then.
It depends on the cost. I love my kindle but if the book is 15 bucks I’ll just go to library.
I have a kindle. But a book is my go to. There’s just something about the turning of the pages!
Ebook from the library!!
Library , I can’t afford to buy books… my mom does buy James patterson
I love it all. Ebooks, libraries, bookstores, second-hand shops, book sales, garage sales.
I like all forms depends on where I am reading by the pool paper back, inside. Kindle at night in bed audio
Library
I enjoy both but ebooks are more convenient to carry. Books I check out rarely leave home anymore.
Borrow ebook from library
Ebooks let me keep more books going at a time.
E book from Overdrive. I belong to 3 libraries. 😛
I still love libraries. But the convenience of ebook is great. Right now I have one book I bought because I knew I would want to keep it and one Ebook from the library and just finished a hard copy library book. Variety is the spice of life ?
I’m ashamed to admit… I’m a huge advocate for libraries and desperately want my own one day but don’t frequent my own near enough cause #workingmommilitarywifelife and it’s easier to download books
I can’t afford all the books I’d like to read. It’s the library for me, and second hand books too.
Ebook
Love Libraries and bookstores! The covers of the books give a hint of the magic in between the covers and the sweet aroma of opening a new book give you the beginning of the trip you will experience with the turning of each page!
My choice as well. I have read so much because of my kindle and library e-books!
Ebook
Ebook
I get ebooks through the library. I almost never buy books but am a faithful library patron.
Downloading books to my Kindle, for the same reasons as you – you can start reading your new book in seconds! ?
I agree…. Usually audio from library app.
Ebook is more convenient
But there is nothing like turning a page‼️
I prefer buying real books from a bookshop.
I was recently sent a book by a friend on mine and I just have to print it out, rather than poring over a screen for hours…..
Library- you never know what you’ll find!
I borrow ebooks from the library.
I have a hoarding problem — if I own a book I want to save it in case I might need to read it some day, so I read library books all the time, although I love my phone to read Kindle books in waiting rooms and for books that are too old/rare for library to carry like Barbara Pym’s.
Love Barbara Pym!
Both!
I’m an odd one here, I do not go to the library cause I never return the books and end up paying for them anyway. Since I found thriftbooks it’s been great
You can do the ebooks, they go back automatically, and no fine!
I downloaded the overdrive app recently I haven’t tried it out thought yet
@Kelli it’s fun and easy! Tons of great books!
Whats the overdrive app. Hows it work
@Moody check with your local library?
You have your card and a password, and bam! A world of books!
I just looooove the library. It is always a surprise what I find there.
I love the library! Every book is like a Christmas present! I love the feeling I have when browsing the shelves, the convenience of ordering what I want, the friendly staff, and, I love holding a book in my lap!
I have a well loaded Kindle, I buy books on line and in stores, but nothing is more pleasing than an hour+ spent in the library.
The library. They also have ebooks there
Library. I prefer actual paper books and don’t even want to think how much I would spend if I had to buy every book I read.
I am a fan of libraries! Now that I am an empty nester-Amazon is my place for hard and soft cover-books and k-downloads.
I love both!
Me too
I definitely have to go with buying, whether it’s a physical book or an electronic one because I mainly read authors who write in English and unfortunately there are no English books in Italian small-town libraries 🙁
Ebooks ??
I love library – it is mainly because of adventure and I also love the smell of the books
I don’t remember when was the last time I went to a library. I used to “live” in them as a kid. Now, I find that they rarely stock books I want to read and the requesting books from other libraries means waiting for few/several weeks. My preferred option is charity bookshops, then give them away.
I have been checking out ebooks from the library as well as physical books. Trying to only purchase my book of the month books, I have so many books I had to start boxing them up because they outgrew the shelves
