I really liked the Shadowhunters by Cass. Clare but after Heavenly Fire any other books by her was too much. Like House of Night Series. I liked it but 12 ish books and a few side books is a little much. Sorry.
I can’t think of one, but any author who’s prolific is bound to have a little variation in the standard of their novels. I’m not wild about Dickens’s Hard Times or George MacDonald’s The Vicar’s Daughter, though I love both authors and there are good moments in both novels.
I used to love James Wilcox’s books. But the last two I’ve read are awful…disjointed, hard to follow, with unsatisfying endings. But I loved his earlier work. Oh well.
Looking For Alaska by John Green. It’s a little rougher of his writings, and I felt like it focused on the college smut more than the actual story if I’m honest. And I also didn’t like The Heir by Kiera Cast. I kinda felt like with the sequel she ruined her somewhat original post apocalyptic trilogy that she had created.
There was a few from Jeffery Deaver in past few years that missed the mark for me. In his Lincoln Rhyme series. Though he seems back again in his last one.
plugged by eoin colfer ? I’m not sure of the title.. It’s an adult book and far from his usual YA writings.. i was horrified when a line for “eating ass” was mentioned.. i got a different vibes from the book
Yes, I really like most of Kingsley Amis’ novels, but I thoroughly disliked both ‘The Biographer’s Moustache’ and ‘Take a girl like you’.
I actually had quite a few this year that I didn’t like from some of my favorite authors.
Yes. Mine is John Steinbeck and I didnt like The Pearl.
I agree. I didn’t like The Pear either.

Tommyknockers by Stephen King .
Yes. Spark of light by Jodi picoult
@Susan yes!!!!
The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling, it was one of the most dull books I’ve ever read
Mercy and Keeping Faith by Jodi Picoult. I have loved all her books but those ones I couldn’t even finish reading those two.
I love Kate Morton’s books and have read them all — but her new book, The Clockmaker’s Daughter, was a huge disappointment!
The second part of the selection series about the princess, it’s awful
