Prompted all sorts of feelings in me!
Me too! I’m a middle school teacher in a small town. It was hard to read at times.
Definitely! Coincidentally so timely, too.
I’ve loved all of the Fredrik Backman books I’ve read so far. He really sucks the readers right into his books.
I absolutely agree!!
So emotional apparently there is a sequel being translated
Coming out in June. I’m on the waiting list at my library.
@Julie oh wow!!
I was searching some other things on the library website, so I looked for it. There it was. They must add them to the database when they order them? I’m #7 of 14 copies.
I liked this book a lot. It was my favorite by him.
Next on my list reading Britt Marie now.
Just picked it up from the library today! Currently reading My grandma wants me to tell you she’s sorry (so good)
I really can’t get enough of Fredrick Backman!
I think this will be my next audiobook. I keep seeing great things about this book.
Just ordered it!
Book 2 of the Beartown trilogy will be out on June 5. Another book will be released in the future!
Maybe I’ll revisit this. I dropped it because it was too much into sports.
The hockey is a part of the story, but there’s so much more to it than that.
The emphasis – the saturation – of the sport is designed to have the reader understand the community’s obsession with hockey. It is the town’s sole hope, from grandparent on down.
my husband has it now while I read The Last Ballad. And then we’ll swap.
Exactly my reaction. Such a good book told in different perspective.
I find it so interesting how some characters are nameless. The President of the club, the man in the black jacket in the Saab, the bass player. I just really love his writing style.
Totally agree! Loved this book.
@Paul beartown sounds really good
Could not get into it but loved Ove.
Wow, indeed!! The characters are exquisitely drawn. 💖 Kristie, love what you did there with the graphic background! ⛸
