I usually have an audiobook (for while doing chores and knitting), a physical book (for bath time and other down time), and an ebook (for bed time and while out and about).
Yup, always. 1. One paper book. 2. Book on kindle (handy before bed). 3. Audio book in the car. 4. Audio book on my phone (for listening to while walking/hiking/doing housework).
When I finish one of the above four scenarios I basically immediately move on to the next one in that format.
I try it all the time. I start multiple books but I always get into one more than the other very quickly and finish it before going back to finish the other one.
I usually have an audio in car, a book on my phone for waiting in line, a library book 2 or 3 book club books, and A book in my bowling bag to read when bowling (when I am waiting my turn, not while I am actually bowling)
I do. It used to be something I couldn’t seem to handle but with age and less stress, I guess my brain adjusted. Haha! I usually read different genres at the same time. I think the same type of book would be confusing, at least for me. I find that some of the more exciting reads help pull me through the interesting but dry reads.
All the time. On my Kindle I usually have at least one fiction and one non-fiction going and often I’ll have more than one of either or both. I often also have an audio book I’m listening to.
Always!! I have a romance that I can churn through, a more serious book/literature and then another 2 or 3. THe most I have ever had going at once is 8
I currently have 3 books going. One is non-fiction, one is Audible, one is a historic novel. I think it’s important that the books I’m reading simultaneously be quite different from one another to avoid confusion.
Noooooo. Well, there’s one exception: I’m in a book club that reads classic novels (e.g., our current book is Led Miz). We meet quarterly to discuss a portion of the book. Normally it takes 2 meetings to get thru a book. Not ideal for me, but, I enjoy the folks in the club and the discussions.
Always, 3-4 usually. Everyone is always astonished. “How do you do that??” I say, “You watch more than one TV show a week and remember the story, don’t you…”
Always. I like read different books and I choose this book what is ok today even it is different than book on yesterday. So I have more than 5 books again. But usual I read also books per day so it doesn’t matter.
I call it multi- tasking. Have four detective novels at various stages. Louise Penney’s Nature of the Beast Adrian McKinty’s The Cold Cold Ground James Elroy’s L.A. Confidential Rob Leininger’s Gumshoe
My three are completely different: The Last of the Mohicans, In Pieces by Sally Field, and a collection of short stories The Way Winter Comes Alaska Stories. I like the diversity.
When my kids were growing up, the rule was finish one book before you start the next. I hope they are breaking that rule in their adult lives. I do all the time!!!
Ugh yes I can’t keep up with myself… always so many going… a classic, a frivolous, contemporary/popular lit, personal growth and development, business/leadership, psychology
Occasionally I do, if I’ve started a hardback I struggle to take it on my commute to work so I’ll start a paperback too and take that with me. And read the hardback at home
