Last year I was really bad at this. I was always really scattered and reading 7-8 at a time. I felt like I was never finishing any of the books that I started.
This year my goal is to focus and read one book at a time. I’m doing really good! I’ve finished 14 books so far. My goal was 52 for the year – I think it helped to set that high of a goal, because I’ve been uber focused the last few weeks! Lol ?
I am the same way. I have a physical book, an ebook, and an audiobook I am reading and then sometimes I am doing a beta read too. I find it helpful that way so I always have a book no matter what I am doing. Plus, my TBR pile is too big not to. LOL
Not normally, but I was reading Don’t You Cry by Cass Green, which I borrowed from a digital library and deleted it by mistake. Someone else borrowed it so now I have to wait until it becomes available again. Didn’t want to wait around for that so have started my next book.
I do occasionally (there was a time i was reading 3 or 4 at a time, so if I got tired of reading one, i would go to another one i was reading, etc.) but lately I’ve been reading just one at a time. Maybe i’ll go back to multiple books again sometime
Yes, it’s terrible. I’m reading so many and finishing none, but then soon I’ll be finishing one after the other…That’s the thing about reading several, it goes very slow at first.
I only read one book at a time for my own reading. I often teach four separate novels/plays at a time. Imagine going from Tess of the D’Urbervilles to Unbroken to Macbeth and then to Ethan Frome from period to period.
I’m usually a one-book-at-a-time person, but lately I have been switching between two at a time. The only reason I’ve been doing that is because I have both physical books and kindle books to choose from. I read the physical books typically at home during the day, and I read my kindle books when I’m traveling or when it’s dark.
I have never done it before but I am doing it currently, I’m reading « conceivability by Elizabeth L Katkin » which has a lot of medical concepts and terms that need my attention and to relax my mind I’m reading « Never Never by Colleen Hoover »
Usually 2-3 going. Sometimes more.??
Yup, usually.
Sometimes 🙂 I can have one book for when I’m feeling nerdy, one for when I want to laugh, and one for some imagination and daydreaming ❤
I usually have 2-4 I’ve started at any given time.
Sometimes, but it’s rare
Yes….up to 4 at a time
Not normally but I am right now for some reason
yep
I’m currently reading 26 so I would say yes
How do you keep track?
Well actually its not that hard one of them I only have like 7 chapters left so I will read it until I finish
Yes
Yup
Absolutely, I have 3 on the go at the moment. It depends on my mood as to which one I am reading at any given time ?

I can only read two at a time, one at home and one at work.
Yes
If I’m reading something that is very intense, then I will also read something else for levity.
Yeah. I love self development type books but I miss reading fiction when I’m reading them so I usually have one of each on the go at the same time.
Yes
I’m a one book kinda gal.
Yep.
No, it feels as though I am not paying enough “respect “ to the book I am reading…?
usually
All the time ?
Never. I am a monogamous reader
Several.
Yes of course
Yes. I often have a physical book, an ebook, and an audiobook going. As long as they’re all pretty different I don’t get them confused.

@Nevah what is a beta read? ?
I read a story in development from a writer to find errors in story lines and plots. (I am a writer as well so it is nice to give back)
I don’t. I learned recently that people read more than one at a time ?
Nope, and I can’t even begin to comprehend how others do it.
The most I read at a time is two books
I usually read a physical book and an audiobook at the same time ?
Yes, as long as they are nothing alike.
Yes
All the time, I am so bad about starting a new book.
One print and one audio
Yes. I have morning reads and night reads—separate but equal.
Yep.
Too many brill reads to read one book at a time 🙂
8 for reading at home, depending on mood, one for the train, one ebook at work, 1 for the car, and one for obligation visiting!
Not normally, but I was reading Don’t You Cry by Cass Green, which I borrowed from a digital library and deleted it by mistake. Someone else borrowed it so now I have to wait until it becomes available again. Didn’t want to wait around for that so have started my next book.

Only exceptionally. Hardcover book is too heavy to carry with me. So I have another one in my purse.
I also carry with me paperbacks. Hardbacks are for home reading. 🙂

Sometimes.
I have one going in just about every genre.
I read one and listen to another. Preferably one fiction and one non fiction.
Yes. Lately, though, one book captivates me more than the other and the other languishes until I finishes the other.

Generally no, but I have at times.
Yes
Always! Paperback by my bed, paperback by the bath and kindle in my handbag ?
Yes!
I wish I could!
Always. One on my kindle and then one on an audio book for my commute
I read about 4 or 5 at a time… Only thing is…it kind of distracts me from keeping on task with actually FINISHING the books.
I read one “real” book, one kindle book (for when I don’t have my real book with me) & one audio book (for the car) at the same time.
Sometimes. Depends on the books
I try but then get all my plots mixed up sigh 🙁
I just tried doing that and it didn’t work too well so I had to choose which one to stick with. ?
No
Not for me
Yes
Yes but generally not more than one fiction.
