I had 11 in progress around October last year. Picking up the pace again. I like to finish fewer books but have enough running in parallel to play hopscotch across. 😀
Oh yes. I am bad about this. Right now I have 8 books I am reading. Generally I only have three or four, but two of my book clubs started simultaneously and then I am helping friends with a project and 2 books are research for the project. (Honestly, the university could have picked far better books for the project. Would it be rude to make a suggestion or two?)
I didn’t used to, but I do now. Technically I have 3 going right now, only ’cause 1 is an anthology to a larger series that I’m reading in order, and another is 4 books in one that I take a break in between each.
Same here. Up until maybe 3-4 years ago I only read one at a time. But now that I read a number of them at a time, I read so many more books per year. Because if I’m moving too slowly through one, I’ll pick up another that may be more interesting to me at that moment and I’ll fly through that one. I never thought I could read more than one at a time, so glad I tried!
I’m the same way. For me though it started when I tried out thrillers and some were a little too intense to read before bed. Had to have something lighter.
Makes complete sense. I have a friend that does that with those really sad / emotional books that are tough to get through. She’ll switch to something lighter so that she doesn’t get too down.
At the moment because somehow I accidentally started reading the next in a series. Luckily they’re concurrent (which also explains why I didn’t realise straight away)
Yes, but I try to keep them in different genres so it’s less confusing. Often I’m reading a hardcover but don’t want to drag it with me when I leave the house so I’ll pop a paperback or my Kindle into my bag instead.
Yes. I like to cover my bases. At least one eBook and one physical book. Different genres. And then I like to have a reread in addition to the other two.
Oh yes. Constantly. I am currently reading “Small Great Things” by Jodi Picoult during the week, but at the weekends I usually read “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” with the kids around; and now and again usually at night I read “My Weirdest School”. Weeks ago I was reading “Never Let You Go” and put it aside for awhile since I’ve commenced on “Small Great Things”. I am very, very greedy with books ?
I try not too because I get themes and other book aspects mixed up. Lately I’ve had a bad habit of “I have to be in the mood for this type of book” and am on my 3rd unfinished book ?
Mostly when one of the books is slow to start or generally crappy, I will start another one and keep going back to the first book in hopes of redemption.
Yeah! I think I get more reading done that way; I can read something on my phone when it’s not convenient to read or carry a physical book and then at home I’ll read the heavy books I can’t carry with me to school
Yeah. Currently three plus two that I’ve put down for a bit that I’m in the middle of (will pick them up from where I am when I get back to them so they technically count).
I can’t. I lose where I am if I try and I feel out of sync with the story and charactets if I swap between so I stick to one at a time, even in school when reading a book for English class I only read the book that is being read in class.
Yeah I will have 3-4 on the go ???
No.
All the time – 6 in progress currently 😀
Wow

Occasionally I’ll do 2.
One on my Kindle and another on audio.
Constantly I am so scatter brained I will misplace a book and then pick up another.
Haha
I’ll usually have 2 but never more than that or I’ll feel overwhelmed
I’m the same way. And once I’m overwhelmed, I won’t finish any of them.
When I read more than one book, one of them is fiction and the other nonfiction
@Rasti that’s what I do too. One is usually self-help or a health book.
I can’t stay interested in nonfiction ? i do like autobiographies though
@Nicole I biography and autobiography. I’m currently reading the biography of Elon Musk
Always – I’m like the dog in Up – “Squirrel!”
Haha
Sometimes when I’m in the mood lol!
Not on purpose.
Not really.
sometimes if a library book comes available and I am reading something else already.
Yes

Oh! I read 2,3 books at a time as well. Good luck with that project
Three or four. I juggle.

Sometimes. I’m reading 2 now and listening to 1 but it’s two “self help” books and a YA fiction
That makes sense
Yes

I think I’m reading like 10 books right now
Wow! I can’t do that. Only 2,3 books at a time. If I have more than that I won’t finish any of em
Yeah I am currently reading 4 books right now
Always
Sometimes but it’s quite rare. They have to be completely different genres.
Yeah! For me it has to be a fiction and a nonfiction
yeah i have six on the go right now but i feel stressed about it lol
Not me
No! but I bow down to those that do because that takes skill! ????????
Haha ?
Yes and Yes ?
I currently have 6 going
I usually have one physically and then one on my Kindle app
At the moment because somehow I accidentally started reading the next in a series. Luckily they’re concurrent (which also explains why I didn’t realise straight away)
I’m currently reading 72 books according to good reads
Haha ? I’m reading five according to Goodreads but only reading 2 of em now

I’ve never been able to do that
Not any more
I used to
All the time
Yes. It’s a bad habit! I figure if I watch more than 1 TV show then having an audible for the car and a book for nights is ok.

Yes, but I try to keep them in different genres so it’s less confusing. Often I’m reading a hardcover but don’t want to drag it with me when I leave the house so I’ll pop a paperback or my Kindle into my bag instead.

Yes!
Yes
Yussss
Absolutely!!!!!!!!!
Usually one paper, one Kindle, and one audio for different situations.
I’m always in awe of people who can read more than one. I can do a nonfiction and a fiction at a time, but not anything else.
3-4 at a time is my limit! 🙂
I usually have a “real” book from the library, an E book on my kindle, and an audio book in my car!
Sure do.
Always
Sometimes…
Sometimes, but not usually.
I guess yes…i always have a physical book and an audio book in my car going

me too..greedy that is! My eyes are bigger than my freedom to sit back. Never Let You Go is a very good book.
You bet!
I try not too because I get themes and other book aspects mixed up. Lately I’ve had a bad habit of “I have to be in the mood for this type of book” and am on my 3rd unfinished book ?
I used to but I’d prefer now to concentrate on reading just one bk at a time.
Always
Yes
I read 2 books at a time. I I’m my living room and 1 by my bed
Books kept in different places. Books 3 or more chapters/ 50 pages or so. Books that can be read in bits when u gotta go for some job thereafter.
Mostly when one of the books is slow to start or generally crappy, I will start another one and keep going back to the first book in hopes of redemption.
I always read 4 at a time two fiction and two non-fiction.
I’m usually reading one and listening to one

Yeah. Currently three plus two that I’ve put down for a bit that I’m in the middle of (will pick them up from where I am when I get back to them so they technically count).
No usually, but i have on occasion. More likely to be reading one and listening to an audio book.
Yes
Certainly do, and it makes for interesting finishes, because I juggle anywhere from 5-10 reads at one time, I enjoy many surprises.
yes
Who doesn’t!???
yup!
I try not to…
Yes
I can’t. I lose where I am if I try and I feel out of sync with the story and charactets if I swap between so I stick to one at a time, even in school when reading a book for English class I only read the book that is being read in class.
No. Sometimes too confusing for me.
yes
Yes! Sometimes three or four
Only if one is fiction and one is nonfiction.
Nope. I’m a boring monogamist. ?
Usually only one, but I don’t really count the bathroom reader, so I guess two at once.
