I found it very confusing. I read it on my kindle but wished I had it in paperback form so I could page back and forth more easily. I may try to read it again as an actual book. Maybe it will be less confusing.
Just finished discussing with my physical book group. Only one out of seven liked it. Not only confusing, but were not given an opportunity to really connect with a character. One theory was the author had a lot of little stories not long enough for one book, so put them together to make one very looooong book. ?
I loved this book. I began at the beginning again as soon as I finished it. I have never done this before but with this book it was very appealing to reread having acquired all the information.
I started Case Histories three different times (finally finished it and glad I did. It was a good read). So was apprehensive about Life After Life. Ending up loving this book. She’s become one of my favorite authors.
Yes. It was one of our book club books. It was good. If I remember correctly, a tad confusing.
Yes. It was really good. I had a book hangover after I read it and had to reread a few faves before I could enjoy anything new.
Lol. I thought that only happened to me.
Haha! Me too, but I saw people posting about it on Pinterest and realized I was not alone.
Great book, once you get into the swing of it!

Yes, I got into the book — not a fluff read but was worth my time.

Yes, someone loaned me a copy. She thought I would like it. Thank you, Geri Russell. I did like it very much.
I just couldn’t finish it, although I like most of her books.
Yes. I enjoyed it.
Yes and I loved it.
The sort of sequel A God in Ruins was good, too, and heartbreaking.
I couldn’t get into it but my daughter loved it
I loved it, but the book club didn’t universally agree. I’ve liked all her books. I wish she’d written more Jackson Brodie books!
I’m going to try it. Not my “usual”, but I need something different
If you like the “what is I had ….” question you will jive w he book
Loved it. She’s one of my favorite authors out there.
Enjoyed it very much once I got into the ‘swing of it’.
I liked it. 4 out of possible 5 stars, in my opinion. ?
I loved it! Then I tried to read her follow up and couldn’t get into it.
Such a great book! The follow-up was a slog but the last few pages made it great too.
Shoot I stopped reading the follow-up. Should I have finished it?!
@Nikki The last 10 pages made it worth the read but it was a loooooong slog. I’d say nope!
@Rebecca thanks I won’t bother or I’ll just read last
10!
I read it and didn’t love it but didn’t hate it. But it has stuck with me nearly a year later, so that counts for something.
I loved it but stopped reading the follow up “A God in Ruins”.
Same here! I keep saying I’ll come back to A God in Ruins eventually, but haven’t yet.
I read it and I loved it.
I enjoyed it but also did not get into the follow up book. Our book club had a very mixed reaction but I really liked it once I caught on.
Did not like it, finished it but it was a struggle.
Got tired of it, but got to the end. Like almost everything else she has written a whole lot better. Haven’t read the follow up.
Yes and the “sequel”
Oh, yes! I read Life After Life…Atkinson is an acquire taste but worth the effort if you “get” her.
Yes. I read it quite a while ago…it was strange but fulfilling. I do want to read her next book.
Ok, but I preferred her mysteries.
Loved it. She is one of my favorites.
Great book but sequel disappointing
Can you say why?
I found it very long in descriptions & jumping around too much in time. One of the very few books I’ve ever stopped reading & I Loved Life After Life!
@Nikki What a shame….
@Nikki i did too & had to abandon
The sequel felt contrived and the plotting heavy handed
@Fredda How odd
Yes, and her “sequel” about the brother is on my to-read list.
I loved it so much!! Her descriptions of the English countryside are so lovely and cozy. I’m about due for a re-read, as a matter of fact…
I was bored with it.

One of my favorites! So unique.
Yes yes yes. It’s a wild ride. Blew me away. She’s a genius.
Yes, loved it.
Very interesting and different. Her other books are great!
Hated it.
Great book.
Did not like it.
