The waiting list is ridiculous for some books. If your library is part of a county system allll the members in the county go on hold for the same one copy of the book.
I was a nice librarian and always took a look at the wait lists and would order an extra copy for my branch card holders only. So let’s say there were 100 holds on 1 county shared copy and 12 of those patrons were mine? I’d order a copy for us only and then it would be 12 holds on 1. That’s why it always says to login so you can see what other copies are available.
I don’t work in the libraries anymore (allergic to paper/ink) and my local library is the pits at overdrive ordering. They don’t always buy books we click recommend on ?. If I care Enough about it I’ll email and then it will eventually get ordered.
I use overdrive. Sometimes it easier than getting what I need from my library itself. I am definitely a mix medium user. Though, most of what I’ll be reading this month are ebooks.
I switch between axis 360 and overdrive as sometimes the wait times are less on one app than the other or one app has a book that the other one doesn’t have. But overdrive is a better app, axis 360 is a little buggy
Yeah, I do. Love it!
Sure. It’s great. Especially if you’re allergic to paper and ink.
Yes I love it, I often find the waiting list for books is a lot less. Of course, not always new books available.
