If you’re serious about reading more then schedule it into your day like you would a household job. I’m lucky to work from home so I have a routine of reading for 20 minutes once the kids have gone to school, I get about half hour in over lunch and then an hour in bed at the end of the day. It’s become part of my daily routine.
I stay up a little later at night and read after my son goes to bed. I usually sit down with my book between 8:30-9:00 and read until 10 or until I’m too tired to continue lol. I start my day at 5:30am and I work full time and have a 2 yr old, so that is really my only chance to read in peace. I also take my book to work with me and read on my breaks.
It can be hard to find time so you really do have to create it. I feel deprived in a way when I don’t get to read for a long time. I am up at 4 to get ready for work. I usually listen to an audio book on the commute to/from my full time job. I try to listen with headphones if it gets crazy in the office. And for physical/ebooks I try to always have my Nook on me. Just in case I have to wait somewhere. And try to go to bed a little earlier if possible to get in some reading. And I do scold myself if I find that a I spend time scrolling through social media instead of using those stolen moments to read. It’s happening a lot lately. lol. I think we all kind of do the same thing. Everyone has great ideas. I hope you are able to get more reading in!
I read on buses, in line at stores . Breaks at work . And whenever I can . If I could figure out a way to make my hourly wage to sit at home and read I really would . But since my cardboard box house dream is just that and I need money to buy my books . Not much eles I can suggest .
Read while acting as if you’re watching tv with book in your lap. Read while travelling. Read while you’re taking a bath one hand out of the tub Read while your sitting in the loo Read while your food is warming in the microwave; catching a word while you grab that plate another when you turn for the spoon. While you’re stirring the soup and feel good while you cook. While you’re buttering your bread While you are biting off that morsel Or when one hands on your head holding the towel. Read when you feel that the page does not load soon enough. Read when someone’s battering your brain with political or legal stuff…
I found listening to books on my phone while I’m walking great for boosting my reading. You can get the Librivox app to listen to free, public domain books. The quality can vary, but there are some very good readers on it.

wake up an hour early. Also take advantage of small time increments like 10-20 mins
Quit work, don’t eat or do housework, hide away somewhere
This is sound advice. I like it.
I’ve started staying up late once the kids are in bed to read & because it isn’t a strenuous task it hasn’t affected how tired I am ?
I always keep my book with me . You never know when you can sneak in a few min of your book ( waiting rooms , waiting for kids in car , etc …)
I do the same, Stacey!
This is exactly why I listen to audiobooks. I spend a ton of time driving around town for my job, so I just listen to books while I drive.
With audiobooks you can also listen while doing mundane household chores, like dishes, or taking care of the yard.

And always a book in your bag in case you have to wait somewhere
Get up earlier.
Try listening to audio books during your commute.
I carry a book EVERYWHERE. I’ve been feeling the same so far this year. I mash reading time into every spare 5/10 minutes lol
Before bed and early evenings

I read during lunch breaks and breakfast. I’ve also had people say they enjoy Audible.
do you take the subway for work? if so, read there, while for work or going home from it. Any time and anywhere while you are free
I listen on Audible in the car, while cooking dinner, or cleaning.
This is an atrocity except in the case of Outlander, because who doesn’t need more pictures of Sam Heughan in their lives.
^gif for reference. ?
Nice! But, how does this relate to the OP’s question? ? lol
I googled him and he is good lookin
Audiobooks. I listen to them on my hour and a half commute.
