Ditto on Ann Rule and Helter Skelter mentioned by @Jami above. Joe McGinnis also has some great true crime stories, such as Fatal Vision and Blind Faith.
People Who Eat Darkness by Richard Lloyd Parry (incredible! i ate this one up ?) and A Wilderness of Error by Errol Morris. the latter is a thorough examination of the jeffrey mcdonald case, and while he does not—repeat: does NOT—make a case for mcdonald’s innocence, he does reveal a very bungled investigation (shocker). i was so excited for that book, i bought it in hardcover…and i don’t buy anything hardcover!!
I am reading “Psychic Profiler” by Robbie Thomas right now. I consider him a friend and absolutely gifted!! He is a medium that works with police to help find murdered and missing people. His newest book gives insight into his life and highlights some of the cases. You can learn about him here: https://www.robbiethomas.net/
I like TC among other genres. There was one book I picked up that gave off so much evil I had to put it back. It had pictures too. It was the story of Ed Gein, who Psycho was based on. Never had that happen before.
Ann rule! And helter skelter. Anything by Dominick Dunne
Helter Skelter was great!
^^^^^yes!
The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson
I’m reading this one right now.
Me!

True Crime Addict, it was SO good!
Me. Oh wait, you mean books?
Well, you have to have read Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood, right? It’s the very best.

There’s a true crime group on Facebook that discusses a lot of books.
Do you know the group name?
Interested.
Loves Blood, Born Evil, and Who Killed My Daughter? Also “Are You There Alone? The Unspeakable Crime of Andrea Yates.”
Ann Rule…M. William Phelps. And of course Kathryn Casey (who I think is a member in here)
True crime addict, lost girls, American fire
