Always a fan of Nancy Drew. Also read my 1st Agatha Christie around that age.
One of us is lying – it’s a great book that was recommended to me by a twelve-year-old.
@Jenn don’t you just love it when a child recommends a book?
@Kathy it’s my favorite. I always ask kids I work with what they suggest, especially middle and high school.
Dorothy Sayers is an English author who wrote a whole series of detective books. They would be appropriate for her age.
Really? I can’t imagine a young teenager understanding them. I read adult books at 12 or 13 but Lord Peter would’ve been over my head.
I started reading Agatha Christie in seventh grade.
I’d also recommend the Sammy Keyes series
To catch a killer by Sheryl Scarborough
I loved Agatha Christie at that age!
I second the vote for Christie, and the right age for Ellery Queen too.
Me too and I second Ellery Queen.
The Charlotte Holmes series by Brittany Cavallaro. The first one is A Study in Charlotte.
Nancy Drew and Hardy boys
@Deborah these are for elementary. I ❤️ them as a kid
