There’s a hilarious series out by Elizabeth Peters….the Amelia Peabody series….takes place in late 1800’s to 1920’s…..can’t remember the first books name….but try to read them in order….about Amelia going to Egypt after her father dies….meets her soon to be husband Emerson (the greatest archeologist ever) and the various mysteries they solve along with their precocious son “Ramses” etc…and against their arch-enemy the “Master Criminal” etc….almost peed myself so many times!!
I started reading these when I was in my early teens and think these books contributed to my fascination for Egypt and for history. Just wonderful popcorn for the brain.
They’re seriously some of the best books I’ve ever read. Reilly is currently working on the second trilogy (maybe turn this one into a quadrilogy?) after taking a break for a few years after his wife died.
James Rollins has a whole series of books. 3 different series all based on archaeological sites, stories, etc. He wrote Indiana Jones…, all wild and adventurous!
The Faye Longchamp mysteries by Mary Anna Evans and the Nora Gavin series by Erin Hart. Both are really excellent. Relics (I think) is the first Longchamp book and Haunted Ground is the first Nora Gavin book.
The Andy McDermott books are really good, I think the first one is the cult of Osiris
Death In the Beginning by Gary Williams and Vicky Knerly
Will have to try it! Thanks!

Loved the series
Also, the Jack West Jr books (7 something Wonders, 6 Sacred Stones, 5 Greatest Warriors, 4 Legendary Kingdoms) by Matthew Reilly
I have seen those but never tried them. Thank you. I need to broaden my horizons.

@Ann Dig Site Mysteries are good
Maybe “The Lovers” by Irina Shapiro. I just finished it and loved it
