I felt like I needed to read him, and I finally read a segment of one of his books in “Colonial Horrors”. Never have I counted down the pages as much as this. It was horrible.
I curse high school for not introducing me to him, And I’m grateful they didn’t ruin him for me.
There can’t be any doubt he was racist AF, -BUT- As his works are public domain, I don’t feel like I have to be concerned that my $$ are supporting his racisim.
Algernon Blackwood was my introduction to Weird stories, and Lovecraft distilled that essence. I love it.
Never read him but he is on my tbr list cuz they are my husbands favorite

I love his stories, but there’s definitely racism issues in some of them, not to mention his own problematic opinions

I read a book of short stories and found it boring and weird. I am a fan of weird but he was just the wrong kind. It was a never again for me.
Very heavy weird interesting stuff, have to be in the right mood to read him bc it influences my mood so much.
