I like his prose writing and I’d like to like his fiction cause I like his ideas and think he’s a good bloke but I find the writing can be a bit kind of twee, too whimsical for me maybe. I guess I’m not really a fantasy fan for that reason. His book of essays, The View From The Cheap Seats has some great stuff in
Love them. And absolutely have to give a shout-out to a collaboration between him and my favorite author, Terry Pratchett. The book is called Good Omens, and they’re doing a six episode series (will be available on Prime) starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen as best friend demon and angel who are trying to prevent the apocalypse.
So far, I have only read Anansi Boys and American Gods, but I loved the former and enjoyed AG. I expected more from the latter, though. I want to read more, definitely!
@Meredith It’s very funny and irreverent, but maybe read a sample before making up your mind? Some people have been offended by the subject matter, but most fans of Gaiman and Pratchett seem to love it.
He’s a great storyteller. Good Omens with Terry Pratchett is fabulous. I’ve read the first volume of The Sandman graphic novel, just finished The Graveyard Book tonight, and Norse Mythology. He’s so versatile and whatever he turns his hand to is epic.
Some of the best writing ever.
Love them, especially American Gods.
Awesome!
Love them. He’s a very unique writer with a great imagination.
Neil is an amazing writer!
Uneven writer. Neverwhere is bound for a classic. American Gods reads like an early edit before he put the action in. Dropped it with 40 pages left.
Boring and depressing.
Love him. American Gods, The Ocean at the End of the Lane, Neverwhere, Coraline, Norse Mythology….❤❤❤
Stardust, American Gods ?❤️?

Boring pagan nonsense.
@Mark oh I thought his books were fiction?
@Allen exactly
@Mark so I don’t get what you mean then…because I find them so interesting!
@Allen rehashed pagan variations more aimed at being provocative than creative.
@Mark I’m sorry I disagree. ??♂️
@Allen yeah I know it’s ok.
I’ve only read one and i really didn’t like it, so I can’t judge.
Love them Graveyard Book and Neverwhere great places to start

Neverwhere and Ocean I loved
He’s one of my favorite authors and I’ve never been disappointed with any of his books. My favorites are Neverwhere, Good Omens, and American Gods.
@Terri have you already read his book, the Good Omens? ?
@Meredith I loved Good Omens! He wrote it with Terry Pratchett awhile back and it’s SO good! I love their sense of humor.
@Terri I’ve been planning to buy that book but first I want to know what other people think of it after they read it and thanks for that. ?❤
@Meredith It’s very funny and irreverent, but maybe read a sample before making up your mind? Some people have been offended by the subject matter, but most fans of Gaiman and Pratchett seem to love it.
@Terri okay, I will. Thank you for your suggestions. ?❤
He’s excellent so I think you should try to grab one of his books. Just try the American Gods. ?

I want to collect all of his books! I love to listen to him read his audio books.
He is incredible! X
I LOVE him. If you can, listen to him narrate the audiobooks. He’s SUCH an amazing narrator and his voice brings so much more magic to the story
He’s a great storyteller. Good Omens with Terry Pratchett is fabulous. I’ve read the first volume of The Sandman graphic novel, just finished The Graveyard Book tonight, and Norse Mythology. He’s so versatile and whatever he turns his hand to is epic.
Love them
American Gods started slow but at a certain point I couldn’t put it down. Plot was very original and unpredictable
@Colin I agree.
