You love to read, but do you necessarily love to write?! ??You love to read, but do you necessarily love to write?!! ?? Roodi #questionnaire
Yes, it’s like therapy to me.
I like writing poetry 🙂 I used to write little stories but my English professor destroyed my passion for that. ?
@Debra prove him/ her wrong
@Debra writing for school can sometimes make that happen. I was so burnt out when I finished my English degree. I’m an editor though so I don’t really worry about it, but I definitely understand.
Write in order to be read.. always love that line ?
I love writing but I have to be in the mood and on a roll lol
Writing is therapy.
Yes! I love writing and I love reading
I used to. Now I don’t feel like I have anything important/interesting to say.
Yes!! I write in my journal every morning and I use to write my own short stories. Don’t have time for that right now but maybe some day…
I love to write! ??♀️
I don’t like to write, I’ve always struggled with putting thoughts into words. This is why I almost never write reviews. I make sure to rate books though! That, I can do.
Yes! I love to write (more like type) Unfortunately, I need to practice:(
I have a notebook that I’ve been keeping since I was a teenager, full of ideas that I thought would be cool book ideas for that bestselling novel I was going to write one day.
That notebook is still sitting on my shelf, it is still not a bestselling novel. Oh well…..
@Jodi one day ?
I have so many stories in my head I would love to write down. But I can’t seem to get them out.
I loved to write until around my 3rd year of college as an English major. The harsh criticisms, strict deadlines, and dry topics definitely made me a better writer, but greatly diminished the pleasure for me.
@Kayla I’ve graduated from faculty of Arts, English dep. Cairo uni. . ?
No. I can’t even get myself to write in a daily journal. I’ll stick to reading, it’s what I love. ?
Not me, I loathe writing. Even signing my name.
Yes I love to write.
I love writing. I’ve been writing since I was in 6th grade.
I like to write poems
Yes, maybe more. I’ve written a few books now. My days are filled with scribbling down ideas for scenes and editing. I don’t know how to not write, it’s kind of like breathing for me?♀️
I live for my writing.
I enjoy writing, but I usually have little time for it. It’s one of the things I hope to do more of once my boys head to college.
Yes! Writing is extremely therapeutic for me. ?
No unfortunately not after years writing statement after statement and casefile after casefile (police) the joy I once found in writing has been sucked out of me. 🙂
No, I don’t have that kind of brain.
All the time.
Write? Yes. Edit? Well…
Yes, I do both and love both.
No, and no! I pretty much always strongly disliked writing with the exception of writing letters and postcards to my friends. I get asked this all the time so at some point I was wondering if there was something wrong with me. However I’m really just a reader and I’m happy this way. Someone’s gotta read what others write, right?
Yes! Reading is liberating, and writing is healing ?
Nope. I’ve never felt the urge to write anything I don’t have to. I’m good at it when I do, but as an optional activity, it’s never been my thing.
I absolutely HATE to write. That is why it was so hard for me to get through my MLIS.
It’s a love/hate relationship
Yes, I write because it hurts if it doesn’t come out of me. Seriously, I thought I was having a heart attack, but all I need to do is write one thing that kept repeating itself in my mind. And, I read for inspiration.
Yes. I love both.
I would love to write but I’m too busy reading. ?
But don’t you ever want to rewrite a story in a different perspective or is there a story you would like to read but hasn’t been written? That is from Toni Morrison.
I write about particular moments and people and sometimes fiction also about my own feelings.
@Dante good ?
Absolutely, ever since I was a little girl!
As long as it’s not an essay, I love to write.
I love to write and was a columnist for many years until a couple of years ago. Currently I’m writing an autobiography just for my family to read after I’ve gone and have just started a fictional novel. My only gripe is that there aren’t enough hours in a day to do all the things I want to do!
@Gaye agreed ?
Yes I write articles on a regular basis, so I can for sure say that I love writing, just as much as I love reading books. ,
Two separate things. I love to write however it’s not because I love to read.
I should write, but motivating myself to do so can be a challenge!
I understand that. I should be editing, but look where I am LOL
@Randy Often, Randy, knowing what to leave out is as important as knowing what to put in. You know what I mean! 😉
@Clay yes I do. I know how to tell a story, it just sometimes I get lost in the structure.
I working on getting my nerve up to posting the first chapter of a novel that I’m writing in writer’s support group that I belong to on Facebook .
@Randy Bearing one’s soul can be a shattering experience. I’ve done it. It humbles you!
Yes, it does. I post on an online website where they rate your work. Even though it is erotica they can be brutal to downright nasty.,, that last part not in a good way. lol
Writing is my love and my curse ?
YES and i published my first book in October and have received an immense amount of positive feedback on it 😀
Yes, I love to write. I am writing my first thriller now.
@Serenity best of luck ??
@Roodi Thanks ☺️
I love writing more than I love reading, and that’s saying something.
I will always be a reader first and a writer second but sometimes it’s really nice just to make all the decisions yourself. And with Amazon self-publishing it doesn’t cost anything but time and effort to put it up for others to read. No joke.
