@Julie the classic dickens but I really enjoyed Elin Hildebrand’s winter series (this years book is about New Year). I currently am reading The Christmas Wish by Tilly Tennant. I am enjoying it. I also discovered this year Melody Carlson and read her book Christmas by the sea. I noticed she has a long list of Christmas books. As far as movies, Hallmark all the way. I have many new authors on my iPad to check out this year.
I just finished The Christmas Town by Donna VanLiere & am currently reading The Mistletoe Promise by Richard Paul Evans. Would recommend both! Last year I read Dashing through the Snow & Twelve Days of Christmas, both by Debbie Macomber & both good! Oh also the Father Christmas trilogy by Robin Jones Gunn, they’ve all been made into Hallmark movies. ❤️
I’m not big into Holiday-themed novels just because they always make such a fuss over being forgiving, generous or loving simply because it is a Holiday season – I believe you should use those traits all year long, not just around the Holidays. That’s just my opinion.
Never. After my Dad died I hate the holidays … I’ll read Beach reads on the beach but ,y teasing is a mental vacation. Holidays equal epic stress and ugly family drama
The colorized version of the Alastair Sim one is my fave & I watch it every year, but I have never read the book. Might have to do that this year…? Is it easier to read than his others seem to be? I had a hard time listening to Oliver Twist (but it was good).
Me, except my reading is still stuck on Halloween. I started Halloween Party by Agatha Christie in early October and I have like 2 pages to go! Hope I can finish today so I can move on finally!!
Me, Me, Me!
Do you have any favorites, @Lauren?
Watching the movies ? and reading the books ?
What are some of your favorites, @Jenelle?

@Pauline I am so sorry you struggle at this time of year. I hope some other literature and activities will bring you some joy and peace.

I like reading A Christmas Carol. The book is so much better than any movie version.
The colorized version of the Alastair Sim one is my fave & I watch it every year, but I have never read the book. Might have to do that this year…? Is it easier to read than his others seem to be? I had a hard time listening to Oliver Twist (but it was good).
