Hey y’all. I’ve got an 8 year old kid who likes to read and has requested books similar to Harry Potter and Diary of A Wimpy Kid. Any suggestions? :)

I secone Percy Jackson ❤
Oh yes, as the person below just said, Chronicles of Narnia would be wonderful for an 8 year old ❤❤❤
Chronicles of Narnia, A series of unfortunate events
Percy Jackson
The School of Good and Evil Series
It was after these books that my sons and daughter fell in love with Mr. Lemoncello’s Library. The four enjoyed The Chronicles Of Narnia, Inkheart, and The Mysterious Benedict Society. They also began branching out to middle grade classics at this point as well. Everything from The Secret Garden to Manaic Magee. Then came the nonfiction. Lol I think it’s true; Harry Potter is the gateway book!
Definitely Percy Jackson
Percy Jackson, FableHaven, The Land of Stories
Percy Jackson is a good one, especially if they like long series. I also really liked A Series of Unfortunate Events when I was in Primary school. I also read the Inkheart series, (Inkheart, Ink spell, Ink death) but didn’t get to finish it (I lost my book). It was very good as far as I read, which was the first two books.
Percy Jackson and Chronicles of Narnia
I second these.
Micheal Very series by Richard Paul Evans
fantastic beasts
Captain Underpants? My nephew really likes those books.
Percy Jackson series, Heroes of Olympus series, Enid Blyton’s, Trials of Apollo
Dork diaries
I would say the kingdom keepers series by Ridley Pearson there really good middle grade series
TinTin undoubtedly .
Jack Staples books were my 8yo sons favorites. Really got him to love reading.
Percy Jackson!
Percy Jackson, Michael Vey, Big Nate
The How to Train Your Dragon series by Cressida Cowell. Extremely funny. And I love the focus on friendship and how anyone can prove to be a hero. The wimpy kid, or the bully.
She has given the characters some hilarious names like Big Boobied Bertha, Snotface Snotlout, Fishlegs.
Very different from the movies. A main example being that Toothless is a wimpy dragon in the books. A really silly and very funny dragon. But both the movies and books are brilliant.
?Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan
?Middle School series by James Patterson
The chronicles of narnia
The Red Wall series or the Warrior series
The Eragon series

The Magicker series by Emily Drake. It’s a lot like Harry Potter.
