Go set a watchman by Harper Lee. Therexis, some conjecture whether or not she wrote this. I honestly think she did not write this and if she did its a terrible sequel
Well, when she pitched the book originally, it contained the story we know as To Kill a Mockingbird, and her publishers were more interested in the story about younger Scout, not the story of adult Jean Louise and her father. So I’m not sure Go Set a Watchman is supposed to be a sequel as much as a frame story.
Camino Island, John Grisham. The book was really interesting. The characters are great, well developed. I was disappointed at the end of the story, however.
How odd. I felt the same way. I enjoyed the book all the way through except for me, the very last line just wasn’t necessary and that spoiled a great part of the story for me.
The girl on the train. i still can not believe I actually spent money on it.
I didn’t even finish that one.
? it was a drag.
I feel that way about the book Baby Teeth.
Now Baby Teeth I liked! ha ha
I liked Girl On a Train. Kept me intrigued to the end.
I had the killer pegged at 44%
Just goes the show the idividuality of everything 🙂
@Nicole oh yes! that ending though ?
@Paullomy that’s what did it for me! Ughhhh!!!!!
what about the ending??
To put it bluntly… It sucked.
But you’re right to each their own.
Because…. The little girl got put in an institution….?
@Corinne because there was no closure. No reasoning. Only left with questions. ?
Not really. I saw that coming… I just hate how there was literally only that it felt unfinished to me.
Ah… Felt open to me. I like that though.
@Paullomy I think the lack of closure was purposeful. I feel there will be a follow up
Thirteen. Too much hype and totally too far fetched for my liking
Ready Player One
Baby Teeth
such a downer this book was! ?
Good to know. I have it on my kindle
Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine
Everyone loves it. It wasn’t bad but I expected more.

17th Suspect by James Patterson
The Woman In the Window.
Same here
Yep! Finished it somehow but was not a fan
Ditto!!!!! Good concept- could have been better
The flight Attendant-Chris Bohjalian. It was just awful in every way.
Couldn’t even finish it.. Was totally confused, what the story was about??
Oh I loved this book. It was so beautifully written, but I agree, when I’d finished it I did wonder “what the heck was that all about?”
Interview with a Vampire, struggling to finish it so i can continue thru the Vampire Chronicles & move on to Prince Lestat.
In A Dark Dark Wood. It wasn’t even remotely scary or creepy like it seemed it would be. It was actually boring.
I second the girl on the train. It was too hyped up. IDK why they even bothered with a movie.
Didn’t like the movie, watched about 10 min
It sounded so promising!
Girl On The Train and Girl Gone.
Fault In Our Stars, I expected it to be better and was disappointed
Into the water

I have heard it was rumored that her friend Tennessee Williams wrote To Kill a Mockingbird. Maybe she wrote Go Set a Watchman?

Adultery by Coehlo
Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. There were parts that were so slow that I literally had to push myself to read them. I never even finished it.
I tend to stay away from hyped up bestsellers, more often than not I’m disappointed.
I am almost beginning to believe that too much marketing equals weak story. I say “almost” because I still fall for it too.
Probably A Discovery of Witches. I thought the MC would be a lot stronger and the plot would be more than a twilight retelling for adults.
Too much yoga/jogging/rowing/whatevs and wine drinking, not enough magic for me.
That too. Very descriptive and a little pretentious but for me when diana broke down because matthew left her at Sept tours I was done. ??????
I found all of the characters really really boring. Just totally lacking in charisma or spirit. Such a disappointment.
I particularly liked it for the alchemy, I was fascinated by the description of the Bodleian Library.
@Henna did you read all three? Is the alchemy more of the plot later on?
@Heather
No. I have only read the first one.
A man called Ove
I didn’t like it either. Only read a chapter..
Camino Island, John Grisham. The book was really interesting. The characters are great, well developed. I was disappointed at the end of the story, however.
The Bonesetter’s Daughter by Amy Tan
the cruel prince prince by holly black i found it to boring to finish
The Female Persuasion by Meg Wolitzer
Under the dome
Leah’s Way
Leah on the Off Beat
The Rooster Bar, John Grisham, and the latest one by Dan Brown, can’t even remember the name. Both SO bad!!!
Norwegian Wood by Judith Farrell. Tossed after 27 poorly written pages.
One book ends before the trial even starts & the other just lacks substance and is just boring
17th Suspect, James Patterson. I love the Women’s Murder series, but this one just wasn’t up to par for me.
The light fantastic, really wanted to like it but couldn’t get into it
The Woman in the Window
Aww I loved it!
I loved it, too, @Paula!
Night Circus. Followed by Crazy Rich Asians.
The Robber Bride. Did not enjoy it as much as I thought I would
How odd. I felt the same way. I enjoyed the book all the way through except for me, the very last line just wasn’t necessary and that spoiled a great part of the story for me.
@Bonnie
I see what you mean
I just disliked how easily they were all taken in by Zenia. It just felt so evil. I didn’t like it
Jessica Strydom True but some people are Masters of Manipulation. Trump got elected 😀
Graceling
Year One by Nora Roberts. I had big expectations about this one since everyone else seems to love it.
Little Fires Everywhere – hated it.
