Ugh I don’t know why but I knew where it was going pretty early on and I was so sad that it was kinda ruined for me. I really hoped that I was wrong and it would blow me away. ?
Katy Reid I had to reread a part in the beginning to see how I was fooled. Before that I didn’t even believe the twist at first. I thought I had misread a section. I should add that I love being fooled in a story. I don’t want to know what is going to happen.
The Awakening by Kate Chopin. I was in a hotel room and actually threw the book across the room, I was SO disturbed by the end! (I left it there, too!)
It sounds a bit ‘well, duh’, but a certain Stark’s death in the first Thrones book took me completely by surprise. Yes, I was a fan well before the TV show came out. In fact, being keenly aware of just how dramatic the Thrones’ books were, I was understandably delighted at the prospect of HBO turning it into a series. Still very weird to see how massive the show has become.
@Victoria I do too! I was at a used book sale and saw a book I wanted to read but couldn’t remember if I had it or not, so I bought it. When I got home, not only did I own it, I had TWO copies!?
