If you are interested in erotica, read Anne Rice’s Beauty series. Shades has weak characters, poor writing, and the plot is all over the place – in my opinion.
I agreed with you….very poor in writing…and yet..people still love to read them..there’s a lot other authors that writes more beautifully…sorry….thats my opinion about shades book
I loved all of them try read the first of the series and if you don’t like it you can always quit, don’t let anyone tell you to not read them cause it’s shit in their opinion you might miss out on something you really going to enjoy 🙂
they aren’t shit, but what they are is much worse; making people think the dom/sub culture/relationship is about abuse, disrespect, and forcing others into things they were not comfortable with. These books glorify abuse, both physical as well as mental. NO healthy relationship, kink or no, has ANY of that. Trying to normalise it is deeply, deeply disturbing.
I would say neither. Read something more worthwhile. I have heard from a lot of people that after they started reading them they stopped and started something else.
Shades of Grey!!!
Shades then darker then fifty shades free ( third one)
But the review said Darker is more deeper than Fifty Shades of Grey..
They go in order…you have to read them in order or they won’t make sense
Its a series fifty shades comes first it wont make sense if you don’t read it in that order
Maybe because I’m in a heart broken phase so I want to look how Christian handle the Anastasia’s leaving..
Darker is the second book in the series. You will need to read shades first as it is the first book in the series and dark follows on from it
Oh fifty shades first
Fifty shades first
They go in order.
50 Shades of Grey
50 Shades Darker
50 Shades Free
If you read Darker first you’ll miss out on a lot of the story line.
Fifty shades of gray, fifty shades darker, fifty shades free then gray
You can just read Grey and Darker and read her POV after.
They basically go:
Fifty shades of grey
Grey
Fifty shades darker
Darker
Fifty shades free
Free (not yet released)
Freed**
Wow once you started, you’ll have to finished that long sries, @Rikki..
I’ve read longer lol. It’s not that bad
Both..50 shades first though
LOL, I’ve got confusing here..
Start with fifty shades of gray first
If neither is an option go with Neither
She actually seems to like the series..so no it is not
The first, after that i quite reading them.
….anything else 😉
Yes girl, I could go on and on but I don’t want to kill happy times for the ones who use it for their happy times 😛
Fifty shades of grey
Grey!!
All the same….monotonous!!
Read them in order.
Shades of grey
Neither…
Heh

Neither…move on!!!!!!
Did not waste my time on any of them.
Annie Nichols has some hot erotica too!
Grey!
There are 3 parts Fifty Shades, Fifty shades darker and then freed.
I heard Alan Titchmarsh did an erotic novel, give that a go!
Neither. :/
Read Surrender of Persephone if you want a good bdsm erotic
Neither
Why would you want to read them out of order? TBH, I thought they were overrated and I’d advise to skip them. There are so many better books to read!

She asked for an opinion so that’s what she’s getting, without judgement
I didn’t say they were s#!+, I said they were overrated. Geez, Louise!

I wasn’t talking about you Christine lol
Grey of course, the first book
I thought they were garbage myself (tame/typical), Kushiels Dart series by Jacqueline Carey is a way better option in that vein
None, it’s a waste of time. Really, read something better.
