The Thorn Birds was my very first real book (that wasn’t a Mills and Boon). Loved the book and always remained a favourite. The Shell Seekers, haven’t thought of that one for many years. Read it a long time ago too. It was also great .
I definitely have different answers depending on genre, but for emotional reasons and memories surrounding reading it, my favorite book is The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov.
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. I’ve loved it since I was very young. It demonstrates how determination can win the day, and that families are not perfect but they are blessed with love.
I don’t think I could pick but The Art Of Racing In The Rain is up there. It isn’t often that a single book takes me through the entire emotional spectrum, but this one did. And who doesn’t love a canine narrator?
I don’t. I don’t really care at all about animals. I don’t hate them or wish harm to them, but neither do I feel love or attachment to them. I can’t be the only person in the world that doesn’t love animals.
Harry Potter. I’ll never grow tired of it and can read the series over and over. I love the wonder and the love and the strive for equality that the book emanates. It’s a favorite for my whole family.
The Time Traveller’s Wife or The Shadow of The Wind – why? TTTW is the first book that broke my heart and TSOFW because the story and mystery sucked me in (love the trilogy).
I can’t name just one. The City Of Thieves Me before you The Hearts Invisible Furies Goldfinch The Kitchen House Book Thief The Last Letter from your Lover Beneath a Scarlet Sky Gentleman in Moscow The Nightingale The Outsiders
I am still extraordinarily fond of the Harry Potter series, and have read all seven of them well over a dozen times. I’ve given it a lot of thought, and while I love the writing of many authors and read them, and own their books, this series is still my favorite of all time. I am soon to be 82. Not senile, and a reader from the age of six. The only other series that I love, almost as much, is the Hamish Macbeth series written by M.C. Beaton.
The Lion’s Paw by Robb White. It was read to me in 3rd grade and has always stayed with me. My daughter is named after the main character, Penny. It’s a wonderful adventure for readers of all ages. I can’t wait to read it to my kids in a few years ?
Matilda, the first book I remember having a profound impact and telling me the message “You are not alone”. Loving books is wonderful and a powerful thing. Embrace being yourself and find your magic.
Fried Green tomatoes from the whistle stop cafe. Jilly coopers Riders and Heaven by Virginia Andrews lol quite a mix but these i can read and have, over and over 🙂
I don’t think I can choose one….

@Sarah I loved it, not to many characters ( easy reading when you are brain dead) .. Enjoy!

@Lesley I sometimes call scruffy dogs pop chic!

There is no way I can answer that. Maybe if I break it up into genres, I might have better luck.
The Jester by James Patterson -just a really good story
Jurassic Park. So far, it’s the only book I’ve read in a single day because it was too good to put down! 🙂
@Danielle which one? The first one?
Yup! ?
I definitely have different answers depending on genre, but for emotional reasons and memories surrounding reading it, my favorite book is The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov.

Didn’t want it to end. Immersed.
Me before you, JoJo Moyles
Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis, still a great read.
The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCulloch … one of the first books I read as a young adult and I loved the fact it was set in Australia where I live.
Same with me. I think that is the book that showed me how compelling a great novel can be! It was a wonderful book!
It’s a toss up between Lonesome Dove, Centennial and Grapes of Wrath.
I forgot about Lonesome Dove, one of my faves. Grapes of Wrath too, have to check out Centennial
@Brooke Centennial is amazing. James A Michener.
I can’t name just one.
The City Of Thieves

The Hearts Invisible Furies
Goldfinch
The Kitchen House
Book Thief
The Last Letter from your Lover
Beneath a Scarlet Sky

“A day late and a dollar short” by Terri McMillan – every single character captivated me.
Hobbit & Walden
It changes all the time and the question is too broad. If I was forced to choose I would probably say Pride and Prejudice.
