I’ve read all of Larry McMurtrey’s books. I don’t think any of them compare to Lonesome Dove but Terms of Endearment and The Last Picture Show are both very good too

You will like it. To be honest, first I wanted to give up on the book, but my friend recommended it and she usually lent me good books so I stuck with it and it was worth it. Because the end of the book is so powerful, it gave me goosebumps ?
It is something about the faith or the destiny? Basically whatever is meant for you will meet you at the right time so you don’t miss your happiness in between ?
The Men who Loved Evelyn Cotton, Frank Ronan. Perfume, Patrick Suskind. Plainsong, Kent Haruf. The Heather Blazing, Colm Toibin. Under Milkwood, Dylan Thomas. (I know it’s not a book but a play, still it deserves inclusion here. And none of them are classical crime novels…so shoot me! Lol.)
@Dylan the movies are good but the books are still worth the read. I read all of these before the movies came out. Waited about 20 years for THE STAND to be made into a movie. If you do read SHUTTER ISLAND, I’d love to get your take on it. I’ll tell you why after you read it. ?

I loved Wool but didn’t finish the trilogy after reading shift, worth going back to? Owen Meany also makes my top 5, great book.
