I had insomnia for about 3 weeks straight. So I bought Stephen King’s Insomnia. I’ve never actually read that book. It put me to sleep Every Single Night. No idea why. I’ve read almost all of his books.
Every book puts me to sleep. I think I would have a panic attack if I didn’t have a book to read in bed. Doesn’t matter how good it is, I’m usually good for about 20 pages.
I’m not even kidding, Sleep by Haruki Murakami has helped me but I do have an illustrated edition that has the most relaxing, beautiful images. Usually short stories work best.
I’m listening to an audiobook right now about the Plantagenets, and while the subject is fascinating and the book well-researched, the narrator’s voice is so droning. Puts me to sleep sometimes before I can finish a chapter, even though I’m interested.
The most boring book I’ve ever read was My Antonia (required reading for school). I was also thoroughly bored with The Scarlet Letter. As far as using books to relax and get to sleep, I use audio books. I’ll set a sleep timer on my phone and jump back to a chapter I’ve already listened to. That way, it doesn’t matter if I fall asleep. If that doesn’t work. Bob Ross on Netflix. Works every time. ?
Exactly!! Insomnia was the most boring book I’ve ever read! And it shouldn’t have been since I like Stephen King’s books. Even if he is a bit long-winded lol
@Pilon I didn’t particularly enjoy that one either. It seems people are more divided as to whether or not this book was good, than most of his other work.
The new book about prince Charles

I will start that book again one of these days. I’m sure it was a fluke. lol
I bonked myself in the head with that book when I fell asleep trying to read it. Not his best, but good for inducing sleep!
That’s the first book that ever hit my face! ??
I had a couple of college textbooks that easily put me to sleep.
