Harry Potter! I’m listening to Born a Crime read by Trevor Noah and I think it is great to hear him read it because he speaks SO many languages and you hear all the proper inflections, etc. I also listened to The Shoemaker’s Wife (forget the author) which was a long, interesting story and excellent on audio.
Oh, gosh! So many! Size Matters Not by Warwick Davis (autobiography read by him), Kevin Hearne’s Iron Druid Chronicles read by Luke Daniels, Louise Penny’s Inspector Gamache series to get all the lovely accents and proper pronounciations.
Not sure about the best, but I just finished two that I really enjoyed. Sister Sister by Sue Fortin and The days missing by Kimberly belle. Both I listened to in one day b/c I was drawn into the stories and enjoyed the narrator.
LAKE HOUSE -JAMES PATTERSON , BLOODLINE -JAMES ROLLINS , THE INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT , ELIZABETH GILBERT has a new one it imvolves history and Botanist – sorry blamk on title
Following since I am looking for Audiobook suggestions. I think my favorote I have listened to so far has been George Carlin’s Brain Droppings read by him. I was driving while listening and had to pull over to the side of the road since I was laughing so hard I had tears streaming down my face. Another great one is Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman read by Lenny Henry.
A couple of books I listened to recently so I still remember them well are “The American Spirit: Who we are and what we stand for” authored and read by David McCullaugh and “I Wonder as I Wander” by Langston Hughes, read by an excellent reader/actor whose name I don’t remember just now.
