@Susan I wish I had known that when I read the book. I liked the book-I really did-but those in my book club who listened to it were so much more passionate about their love for his story.
Also, White Trash by Nancy Isenberg, Lost City of the Monkey God by Douglas Preston, Word by Word: the secret life of dictionaries by Kory Stamper, Britt Marie Was Here by Fredrik Backman, and My Absolute Darling by Daniel Tallentt were also standouts.
I’m listening to it now and I enjoy the narrator as well. I like his voice for Harry the janitor. I think it’s fun when a narrator can change his voice around like that
Lincoln in the Bardo. The cast was over 100 people, and Nick Offerman and David Sedaris are the main two voices. I feel like the book was written for audio. Brilliant.
I like to listen when I am driving or out walking, but I always have the actual book as well and read when I am not listening! Lets me get through books faster and try and make a dent in the TBR stack!
I’ve listened to lot of books this year, but the most impressive has been Roxane Gay’s Hunger – the memoir of my body. She reads it herself, a must-listen for everyone, stuggling with their bodies or not.
