If you haven’t read Turtles All the Way Down yet, you should…well actually anything by John Green. The Fault in Our Stars, Looking for Alaska, Paper Towns…. they all are incredibly good.
An Abundance of Katherines by him is good too.

Anything really by Jandy Nelson, Morgan Matson and Rainbow Rowell (though Carry On is a sort of sequel to Fangirl). YA contemporary.

Not YA but the Guardian by Nicholas Sparks is a great read. Still romance but quite a bit darker than his usual stuff
