Has he read “The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” by Douglas Adams? I read it years ago. Several books in the series.
I was going to suggest those as well. My son loved those and he’s not an avid reader.
He hasn’t but he said he will?
Mistborn series by Brandon sanders for adventure/fantasy. Expeditionary force is one of my favorites as well.
Pendragon series by DJ Machale. It’s considered young adult but it’s soooo good
If he likes Dresden he’d probably like Midnight Riot and the rest of the series. Also Michael Crighton’s books.
Yes, The Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch! The best!
Ready Player one. And the movie is released March 29th.
Yes!
He has read that one and we can not wait for the movie.
If he likes Dresden Files, he’ll love Sandman Slim (Richard Kadrey), and Repairman Jack series( F. Paul Wilson).
Joe Ledger series by Jonathan Maberry
The series starts with Patient Zero.
Lunar Chronicles!
Ray Bradbury.

Dark Matter by Blake Crouch.
A fellow Crouch. It must be truly excellent work.
It definitely is.
Brilliance series by Marcus Sakey
The foundation trilogy by issac Asimov
The Red Dwarf books are brilliant.
Dan Simmons’ series starting with ‘Hyperion.’ That and The Expanse series of books by James S.A. Corey, starting with ‘Leviathan Wakes.’ Highly HIGHLY recommended ?
@Cj
If he likes Dresden, then I bet he’d love The Iron Druid Chronicles https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004J4WN0I/ref
I was also going to suggest this series! Loved Dresden and this one also.????
As well as the Alex Verus novels. All 3 series are my top 3 favorites of all time. https://www.amazon.com/dp/1937007294/
Thank you all!!
The Expanse series. The crew of the spaceship is fun.
I like the Alex Verus books. They’re a bit like the Dresden Files, but British. They’re by Benedict Jacka.
Douglas Adams is always great. Or The Stainless Steel Rat series.
Oh! And, the Starbridge series by Ann Crispin. Wonderful coming-of-space-age stories, all.
The Dark Tower series
He might enjoy Ready Player One.
the expanse series
Artemis
Brad Thor, Raymond Khoury and Danielle Silva are great authors!
If he is OK with big books, I’d recommend Justin Cronin’s The Passage Trilogy. Each book is pretty long though.
Sounds great
